Okay, just start out doing regular inspections on the engine:
It sounds like it might be a sensor problem, so check the entire vacuum
system for leaks. Then check the wiring on all the sensors you can get to.
Most of them are on the back of the cilinder head. Make sure your coolant level is correct and it might be a good idea to check the ignition timing for good measure.
