Another possibility - check brake power system for leaks !
If somehow the brake master cylinder leaks in the defective power vacuum actuator (I don't know is this possible exactly in AE86 but I had similar problem in the past with another car) - the brake fluid can go to intake manifold. Just disconnect the vac. tube to the power brake cylinder to test it.
