Coilovers with Konis???

Previous owner of my AE86 just told
me that the car has handmade coilovers in the front.

I asked him if I use short stroke AE92 dampers,
and he said no 'cause:

"Koni made dampers -with oil- for the AE sold as a kit with Eibach short springs"

Can that be true?

And if I really have front coilovers wich dampers can I use?
