They told me I probably need the COC (Certificate of Conformity) which should exist for every Toyota (even 40 years old). Unfortunately it's a document that is only handed out once by delivery of the car. It's very official according to the guy behind the counter with a stamp/watermark.That's not entirely correct. The CoC is an EU document and doesn't exist for pre-EU cars. You'll have to get original registration documents for your specific car from the country where it was first registered (e.g. "Fahrzeugbrief" if it was first registered in Germany, "Fahrzeugausweis" in Switzerland, etc). I don't know at what date the EU ratified the common market access for vehicles using this document. You are right, I did some further digging and it seems that you can't get a Toyota CoC for cars pre 1996 (or something). I've asked the previous owner and he told me that the car is originally from Switzerland. How can I get a copy of the "Farzeugausweis"? and does it mention the production date of the car? None the less I'll post it here if it would help in any which way. Thanks! I need something that mentions the production date. The registration is done already, I only want to make the car a bit older for tax reasons
