RE: Koen's 86 - every drive a new issue
It's been a while since I've updated. I still forget to take pictures
so I've pushed the grey car outside today to show some of the progress. The new fuel system is (almost) ready and in the car ![]() I made a new fuel pump cradle to change everything to AN6. It uses the original mounting holes for the tank (and the seal). The Bosch pump that was in the car is reused. As seen in a previous post I've cut a hole in the floor to acces the fuel pump cradle. Way easier to replace a pump in case something happens. Also gives me some more room for all the fittings. I've put a metal box over it (the lid needs changing, ran out of aluminium ) to keep it separate from the cabin (regulations, safety)In the box is now also the fuel-filter. Declutters the engine bay a bit. The wiring needs a connector and I have to add a roll-over valve to the breather but that's about it. Then all new braided flexible lines to get the fuel to the engine. These are now in the car instead of underneath. Made a bulkhead feed-through for all the lines (brake line and the fire extinguisher is also added) And made flex-lines in the engine bay to feed the original fuel-rail with the added fuel pressure regulator (which was on the car already) So this part is done. As you can see in the pictures I did more already. There is some new paint in the interior. I've replaced the dashboard with one which does have al the mounting points (but still is in bad shape, so I want to replace it when I find a better one). Driver and passenger foot plates are ready and I've started assembling the brake system. Also the green one got a fresh MOT (without any work )I've installed the dashboard and some parts but it seems that something is missing for the heatersystem. Does anyone know how it looks? Than I can start searching in the pile
