If I remember correctly, Toyota homologated a few more options later throughout the AE86 life with stronger rear axles and such. But everything is supposed to be OEM-Toyota.Yes, I've figured out that everything should be correct. I can't even switch between parts in the VO's (the lists of options they added to the homologation during the years). So this makes life simple. I can't change anything ![]() (09-11-2025 07:20 AM)banpei Wrote: About fitting your current ECU to the 7-rib engine: this depends on the engine specifications. Here in Europe, the non-cat engines are supposed to have a higher compression ratio (10.0:1 versus 9.4:1) as it would be allowed to run on leaded gasoline. This means the fuel maps between cat and non-cat are different. Similar to the AE86, the MR2 came with cat and non-cat versions. I'm not sure which version I have to be honest ... I probably just try DarkSupra's method ![]() So did some work to the cars last month. Very busy so not a lot of time left. But I've signed up for a regularity at night for the end of this month (basically finding the correct road as designed by the organizers on an old fashioned paper map) so I have to add lights to the car (and it looks cool The green car already came with a light bar when I bought it. I've never fitted it, so I took it it out storage. The brackets are there which saves a lot of time. And it probably gives a lot of light, but it's not very pretty in my opinion So did some modifying. Some painting, added an extra "level", new wiring and installed fog's from marktplaats instead of two spotlights (also makes it 4x Hella 2000's) And now it looks like this ![]() A lot better I think of course it involved some changes to the loom to make everything switchable with the high-beam and it gave me the opportunity to install the interior lights which is quite handy at night. Everything works Also switched to the Rial Mesh wheels because the Longchamps don't match with the lights but for some reason these need 25mm spacers (instead of 15mm) to clear the brakes which makes them rub. I guess I have to find some with a higher offset or change them again. The grey car is disassembled a bit currently. The previous owner was about 30cm shorter than me and his seating position was too high. So I need to make different (lower) seat mounts in the car. Also removed the dash (and all the other stuff) because everything was a bit crooked. Now I can fix all this and reinstall it a bit more straight ![]() Does anyone know how the fuse box in the drivers footwell (LHD)is usually mounted? They removed all the panels and it hangs on one bolt. I prefer to make it better and a bit more protected... I probably have the parts somewhere, but I don't know how they look
