Anything over 150 whp imho just overpowers the AE86 chassis. Bragging about large hp output is great, but you are left with a car that is just too unforgiving. Even with the stock output they are tricky for most people to drive at the limit. Mind you, I wrote AT the limit, not over it. If drifting is the only thing you are interested in then maybe the big HP may help conceal a lack of driver talent. Better buy a car with large hp numbers to start with and keep the AE86 as a tool to teach you how to drive a momentum car.
