For me this was great learning experience because I changed a lot of things on car. Every change was carefully made and checked.
Quaife quick steering rack - awesome upgrade on rally car. Adapted to it in a second, very natural. Now I have to work much less with my hands when racing. Well it sucks for parking
New bilstein shocks and custom springs (2.6kg/mm) - car is handling just the way I want, so natural on transitions. You can see this in video on 1:45.
Brakes - complete rebuild of brake calipers - for the first time in my life AE86 handbrake is working perfectly! I installed hidro brake and removed the handle, I use stock handbrake. So much better feeling.
Rebuilt gearbox and new paddle clutch - gear changes much faster now with new synchros. I used thick oil, I think it slows down a rotation in gearbox and makes gearchanges faster.
All this combined made a great event for me. I enjoyed every second on gravel. Now I have to wait for snow.
