Balancing ITB's by ear....
Jezza_hr Wrote:The engine gets idle air from the throttle bodies themselves, there'sAssuming that the throttles have been cracked open by adjusting the main throttle stop screw between the two centre ITB's, they should be reasonably well balanced. As a quick check you can use a piece of garden hose or similar. With the engine idling, and the filter socks removed, put one end of the hose close to your ear, and poke the other end down close to the throttle butterfly. You should hear the "hissing" noise of air being sucked past the butterfly. Check each one several times and compare the sounds. If some are louder than others, they are sucking in more air. Hopefully they will all be much the same. If not, then you will have to adjust the throttles with the individual throttle stops until they all sound the same = PITA !! Oh yeah... and probably not a good idea to use the hose if the throttle is popping while the engine is idling. Cheers... jondee86 |
