While the fuel pump is grounded to the tank by the fixing screws, the
tank is not necessarily grounded to the chassis. The tank has rubber pads and a rubber lining on the holding straps. Therefore the ground wire from the FP plug should have a good connection. Test the body side connector and make sure the ground wire from the plug shows zero resistance to the chassis. Then, if you are sure the FP is running when it has 12V, check to see how much fuel is reaching the rail. Did you change the fuel filter ? There is probably a lot of rust in the tank, and it could be blocking either the filter on the pump inlet, or the filter in the engine bay. If you have an AFM, check the FP runs when you manually open the flap with the key turned on. Cheers... jondee86 |
