Some of you will probably recognise 5tevo's new AE86...







End of last year Steve commissioned us to look for a pukka classic here in Japan. We looked at a lot of them, including narrowly missing a few lovely cars such as a mint but modified 510 coupe and a recently full body restored modified Hakosuka Skyline.

Meanwhile I had my AE86 just sitting there in storage... So one day about a month ago I offered it to Steve. Didn't take very long for him to realise this is a LOT better than most modified classics out here. A huge amount of work & knowledge went into creating this unique AE86. So after much deliberation and discussion, he decided this was the best car he was going to get as a classic - and from where I'm looking I knew that most certainly is the truth.

So long story short - next month it'll leave Japan for good and Steve will enjoy what has to date been my favourite of all cars I've owned. :eek:

The reason I let it go is.... There's another nearing completion...
Below are a few pictures taken when it was nearing completion at TPS's workshop. Should be a beast when it's all sorted albeit not as road friendly as Steve's new car but it'll still drive to & from events.

Body's all finished, all the mechanical parts fitted & it now drives, but has no interior except Bride seats, a flocked dash & a steering wheel - so I need to finish the installation there. This will be fairly time consuming to do properly and with lots always going on with our usual work as well as family, etc. I expect it's going to take a while for me to finish it. Hopefully by autumn I'll have it all done.
