Sounds like a problem a mate told me once!
He had same issues only on right turns, it took forever to find the problem and he does engine conversions!!!  Check the loom, most likly replace it. My mates 4A-GE had a faulty wire on the edge of the plastic trim were the loom runs behind the cam cover. (does this make sense???) That damn wire cut out the ignintion through G-force, pretty sure you got a similar issue.
