Is mine a UK AE86? What on VIN/Chassis number says so?

There are 2 ways to to find out if your car is JDM or not:
1: Non JDM cars have a JT...AE86 prefix in its VIN, with on the dots various information about which production plant manufactured it and where it was sold.
2: Toyota prefixed all JDM cars with E in front of the model identification on the firewall plate. So normally your model code would be AE86R-ECMQFW, a Japanese equivalent should be E-AE86-ECMQF (No R because all cars are RHD and no W because it was sold in Europe)
