Ey buddy, if you don't hear from me, it means that you are doing ok.

Ok time for the next step:
Go to the junkyard and get yourself a set of 1.8l brake calliper brackets. Use these in combination with some pads (try Mux for some mintex..who knows) in the stock 1.6 callipers, braided hoses (or original new ones) and 1.8l discs.

The 1.8l-ers used a bigger disc, making the braking power slightly higher, easier to modulate and more difficult to heat up. Also, the brake balance will shift slightly towards the front, giving you the lighter rear end under braking (Assuming you misunderstood the way a 2-way diff works- you can try it out..just keep a bit of throttle on and left foot brake. The diff should stay on the power side ramp angle giving you the higher decell lock).

Alternatively: if you find a millenium edition or sports model, just take everything from those cars (slightly thicker discs and callipers).

Yes, ok, but I still want to hear from you.

Well that next step might take some time, mostly cause I changed brake pads and new steel lines just a few months ago.

Also, I have some plans now, dont know if they ll came true.

I m thinking of getting a used GReddy kit for about 800 dollars.

Then, take my time, send the turbo for service, and when I have the money put it one the engine with just a fuel pressure regulator (as comes from factory) and 0,3 bar

Then, again when I have money, use an intercooler and an e-manage...

We ll see.

You can use your old brakelines, callipers etc..all you change is the discs and the calliper brackets (metal plate thingy holding the calliper to the hub). Calliper brackets are a couple of euro's at the junkyard, brakediscs 60 euro's or near that point. Definately worth doing!! 1.8l bigbrakes for under 100E.

By the way: having a turbo refurbished is hella expensive here in Holland..around 500 Euro's per turbo...Its more cost efficient to just buy a new kit with a fresh turbo.

Well not here in Greece with my connections. I was thinking more about 200 euros, but we ll see if...

I ll really check the brake thing.

Jup, thats what I mean...you could even buy the brackets brand new..doubt that that would run you more then 200E. However, just inform with a couple junkyards around you, strip some big part from the 1.8 (front swaybar or a couple of NB chassis braces) and drop the brackets in your backpocket ;-)

I'm not sure whether the REAR discs are any larger on a 1.8, so check before spending money on those...Al the swaps I've done or heard about just used the fronts...Total should cost you between 50 and 200E depending on your luck (200=everything brand new and OEM)

Listen, we DO NOT have jankyards with MX5's laying around like in UK.

You call and ask "do you have this?" and they tell you. You cant just go and look around... Angry

Also, there arent many 1.8 miatas

If you think you can source the stuff I m willing to pay Smile
