My Drift project - 83' Trueno coupe

funny enough i think the english term for the wax/oil treatment of the inner chassis is "fish oiling"

great work on the car... the s13 is REALLY popular atm in europe.

just a hint - look at using the full s13 crossmember and stearing rack assembly and making the engine mounts from scratch. it all but bolts up... can be sorted in an afternoon , but improves the geometry significantly and would also bring the track back into alignmnt front to rear

Well - time for update i guess - cuz i did A LOT of work on it already!

Finally - got my gearbox in one piece already! Nice to see this step done!



Also - bought Cusco sway bars in japan - waiting for these to arrive:


And finally - had some spare time to work on my Trueno... Started sanding all the seals in the engine bay and started rewelding them...










After all the welds where done - started to clean everything and started to prepare for the paint. Lots of sanding / filling / primering was done - but the finall result - im pretty happy with it









All the inner fenders where sprayed with stonechip - and final sanding on the engine bay was done - also shoted first layer for they paint.



And the actuall color!

After all the engine bay works where done - car moved to bodyshop - to get body prepared for the paint. Also - we prepared / painted whole interior of the car same Engine bay color.

Well - there was LOTS of decidions about color... First idea - was to paint it red - like we did on my friends PS13:



But the very last minute i changed my mind... It was last second decidion - and i nailed it Im satisfied with result more then 10000%... I wanted somthing Brownish / red color... Thought about Porshe Arena Rot (burgundy) thoght about lots of other Burgundy colors - but stayed on the Toyota / Lexus Burgundy / Brown color + added HOK metal flakes for the BLING And it came perfect... Might be NOT for everyones taste cuz of the flakes - but this car is gonna be part time show car / part time drifter - so it needs to grab some attetion one way or another + i already "ruined" it with S13 suspension






Some additional details will be done later on the paint - to make it look better - but this i will post later too!

And i started to work on custom intake plenum for my turbo aplication - this i will post the porgress pretty soon.

Love the color, also on that ps13, is that also LHD??
