techno toy tuning rear strut tower braces....installation ?.
I just got the Techno toy tuning tri bar strut tower brace system for my 1985 GTS coupe. The rear brace has a two bolt bracket, but my coilovers only have a single bolt..... am I to retro fit this bracket or find one that fits the car?

as far as I remember the rear braces aren't a directr fit so need drilling of the turrets to be fitted...

Bracing through that thin sheet metal is silly. I hope they include some serious plates to weld in.

1. AE86 does not have rear struts/
2. Do not use the shock/damper stud for ANYTHING except mounting shock to the chassis. 3. If you want to brace & stiffen the body, then it has to be bolted directly to the body, not on a rubber shock mount, with multiple bolts & washers & preferably a backing plate. |

Ok that was the "what". The "why" post that'll follow should be amusing.
A wheel to steer the front of the car A pedal to steer the rear |

So this is the info that i recieved from techno toy tuning for anyone that may need the info
"On the hatch, there is a threaded socket under a small bit of tape in the rear tub for the tribar bracket." "On the coupe, you'll have to drill a hole as there is not one in the chassis." This is a link to a picture of the install. I had the same idea but just wanted to be sure. http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/edpsx/hachi6.jpg |
