We are talking about low budget up to 6k, we are talking no 2litre cars, and we are only talking S13 as only a few S14s came to Greece and they were 2litre powered.

I give up then.... I've said almost all my "if" projects.....

How bout an old Carina? Or a Crown mark2? Seems to me a different type of aproach... JDM stanced only boat cars from the 70's!

The MX5 could be a filler Tongue

nmwisima Wrote:So its all now gone. Confused

The question is Mx5 NC Mk3 or Honda HR-V? LOL Tongue

Option 1.
Abort the SUV idea for at least some years (Also honda hrv +Sarakakis= expensive parts....) get the mx5 it's gonna be newer and better ,try not to spend much money on the car(even if it has the potential and the parts to be tweaked) in order to keep it daily.

Option 2.
Get an ae86 as well maintained as possible (crisis made the prices drop dramatically) get plates for historical cars EoeE for the hachi, and buy a cheap starlet with an ac, as an everyday car so you can have both practicallity and fun combined.

Of course that is only my personal opinion, and option 2 my future plan.... Wave

ALWAYS SIDEWAYS!!!!!

Good one! I have one that fits right into his 6k budget! Still got 2k to spend on an engine swap and such... Hurray! Thumbs up! Big Grin Big Grin

More seriously: consider the MR2 AW11. Pretty cheap, light, 4AGE, possibility to add more power (SC or 20v) and lots of aftermarket parts.

in an old fifth gear episode the tested an 'average' person driving on track with an 'average' car (clio sport) they tested some different approaches how to get better lap times. in second place came proper tires (DOT semis) and low and behold in first place was tuition i.e. seat time.

therefore due to your restrictions and budget I'd say stick with the MX5 and put some good tires on it done. no power mods or suspension and drive drive drive.
This is of course assuming you want to stick with rear wheel drive... if not get a swift or that sort... plenty of fun if you consider FWD fun, that is.
