thin black with red line. Goes from the igniter to the big connector on the firewall.

well,
it will not work without mods

1. this is how I did it http://www.msextra.com/viewtopic.php?p=147821#147821

2. or you can use this http://www.msextra.com/manuals/MS_Extra_...ivolts.GIF

Have you mapped your BT. Do you use speed density or Alpha-N? I'll be mapping an open ITB silvertop soon so any info would be appreciated.

Yes, but i have tried the 2 way you wrote. And the trick with the 3 diode's just dont work:-( Maybe i should try to look at the way you did'it.
Yes my BT is mapped now. I used speed density, because the blacktop i stock. But if you use some racing camshafts you will need to use Alpha-N, because the vacum/map pressuere will be very weird:-)

I have tried both ways to wire tacho. Both work if set properly on an AE86. The second one works with ordinary coils (with + na - terminals). However I use COPs from 1zz with built-in igniter (so I don't have negative coil terminal). The solution was to hack the dashboard as described and it works fine on my Zenki AE86.
