Tire sizes?
What tire sizes do you use for daily and track use?

I'm on some 14inch lightweight wheels and I don't know what tires should I get. 185 or 195s? 55 or 60 height?

What width do your wheels have? I would go for 185-60-14 or 195-55-14 with 6-7j wheels to remain the speedo to measure correct.

*at the moment*
Daily Fronts - 15x7 Wheel, Federal 595 RS-R 195/50R15, will likely replace with either Nankang NS2-R, Toyo R1R or Advan AD08R.
Daily Rear - 15x8, Federal 595 RS-R 205/50R15, ditto above.

RS-Rs left something to be desired in the wet, I think I might have needed more work on pressures but wasn't overly impressed on anything that wasn't dry.

I will likely be doing a bit of "dicking about" when it's back on the road so the rears will be the cheapest budgets I can find unless I fancy some baiting when it will be back to the stickies.

I have 14x7 Longchamps with 185/60R14 Uniroyal Rainsport and they are pretty good for overall grip levels but have also used a Nankang NS2-R 185/60R14 for the front tyres of my Drift car and they are very good in both wet and dry.

If you want good performance in the wet Yokohama AD08R are the way to go. I'm running them in my daily car (civc EG) and the performance in the wet is outstanding für a performance tire Smile
No other tire i've driven comes close to them in terms of wet/dry performance.

I've used AD08R before on my Twingo RS, just prefer the R1R and Toyo on the whole Tongue

AD08R are a very good tyre though Smile

No wheels for now, I'm on a hunt of 14x6/6.5/7. I think that 195-55 on the 6.5/7inch wheels should be a nice combo rather than 185-60!

I currently have (car is in pieces so not running) 15x8 with 205/50R15 Federal 595 RSR and Toyo R1R (only reasonably priced good tire availabl around here).
I used to run 185/55R14 Federal SS-595 on 14x6 and was rather pleased on track (Nürburgring)

For economy and comfort (and especially on 14x6-6,5 rims) I would stick to 185/60.
If you go for 15x7, 195/50R15 is where the smart money is at. It's almost always the cheapest tiresize available, so you can spend more on better quality tires. For street use I'm partial to Bridgestone and Dunlop.
