Quads Throttle Intake (ITB) on Stock JDM ECU.

Hey Guys,

I'm looking at getting Quads Throttle Intake (ITB) with trumpets along with 266 degrees 8.75 lifts camshafts for my stock 4AGE 16v blue top.

Out of curiosity, would the ^^ above mods work on stock JDM ECU MAP??
Would there be any problems etc ?

The reason i ask is, i would like to ran the ^^ mods for little while till i save up for tuneable ECU down the track.

So far the performance mods i have is Extractors, 2.24" exhaust and HKS Pod filter.

Would be great if someone can elaborate there experience if they have ran the above ^^ mods.

Im in a very similar situation, have the cams & itbs but no money for management, yet.

Sorry to answer your question, the answer is no, the standard ecu might just be able to handle those duration cams, but not the ITBs together,

yeah, the cams were made to be able to ran the stock ecu, just wondering if its possible to ran the ITB as well as well on the stock ecu.

Do you have MAP or AFM?

The stock ecu should handle up to 264° with lift around 8.5.
I also know someone who had 296° on the stock ecu. He adjusted the fuel pressure and idle was at 2000rpm.

The ITBs should work as long as you have a MAP version.

Where would i locate the MAP sensor line on the ITB? As its Individuals where as the standard plenum, its hooked before the air filter.

You need a vacuum tank.

Sorry for the noob question, where could i get vacuum tank? or would i need to get someone to fabricate one?

You can haveit fabricated or buy one from Golden Eagle.

You will also need an adapter plate for the ITB to go onto the 16V head.
