Levin or trueno identification from vin number ?
Hi All,
I'd like to know if it's possible to know if a Hachiroku is either Levin or Trueno from the firewall vin number ?
For example JT1COAE86.... or JT2....

Thanks

Levin or trueno identification from vin number ?
Quite easy: if it starts with JT it is a non-JDM car and then it is either a (Corolla GT Twincam 16/SR5) Levin if it was sold in Europe or a (Corolla GTS/SR5) Trueno if it was sold in the US. Wink
If it starts with a number it is a JDM car and then you can find out by looking at the range. You can find the ranges at Toyodiy.com.

If you already have access to the enginebay it is a lot easier to look it up on the vin plate on the firewall:

The code could be something like AE86-ECMQF or AE86-FCMQF
Corolla starts with E and Sprinter starts with an F in the second range. Wink

1982 - TA60 Carina 4dr sedan - fun cruiser
1983 - AE86 Sprinter Trueno - import project
2013 - Honda Civic sport - daily driver
2004 - AEU86 dot ORG - daily domain

Thanks for the info mate,
Actually I'm in Lebanon, and have a list of ae86 vin numbers from the firewall...
Also, what ae86's came with the metal pedals ? I mean the accelerator pedal crosshatched? Because many ae86's i've been in have small rubber accelerator pedals...
I wanna filter out the levins so could you tell which are the levins among them?

"Cars made by Australian Motor Industries often miss large portions of these codes.
I have seen Corollas with the code COROLLA stamped on them instead of AE82-E...
and Coronas with the code XT130 stamped on them instead of XT130-TE"
Does it mean that ae82 can be stamped on Australian Levin?
