Thanks! It's just a lot of reassembling now and fixing everything that shows up while doing so. Didn't took many photo's because it's mainly boring stuff.

Spend some time tidying up the engine so it can go back in. It was full of surprises as usual.

- Resealed the sump (a bolt was broken of course)
- swapped the oilpickup because it was clogged with sealant
- changed the alternator because it had the wrong pully (narrower, and they just cut the belt a bit..)
- mounted a Flos.ie triggerkit
- fitted a lighter flywheel
- removed the cold-start injector and IAVC and made some block off plates.
- emptied out the AFM sensor (it's not used, only there for homologation reasons) and made a new bracket.


And it went back in I prefer the self-propelled hydraulic engine hoist to do this. The T50 is very light so I attached it when the engine was already in the car. You can just lift it with two people and put it in. A lot easier than trying to angle the engine and transmission when putting them in together.


This is the current status of the engine bay. Been busy making new brake lines (again ) because of the pedalbox. Also remade the clutch line and fitted a new master and slave cilinder.

Next is fitting hubs and brakes when I finally receive the correct studs


Does anyone recognise the right shiftbooth? Still looking for one and I need the rubber below it (which covers the mounting for the shifter on the box) .. If someone can point me in the right direction

I don't recall having seen such a shift boot in my AE86 when I changed the shifter.

I mounted this shift boot over the shifter to the base plate:

Then I mounted the left boot in your photo over this.

Perhaps the boot you're using is used in an older Corolla or Carina?

Yes, I need the one in your photo too I've found the part number 33555-12090 but can't really find one locally.

And indeed, I'm very sure the shift booth is from an older/different model. But which one

I get the feeling my zenki has the same shift boot you do Koen, but its not mentioned anywhere in the parts catalogs as far as I could tell.
To me it looks superior to the more common dust boot that Banpei has since it adds another layer of rubber that covers the entire shifter hole, which
would block more noise (and that is a significant entry point for noise in the cabin).
Think I spotted it on another '84 T50 picture I found online:

That would make sense. Some kind of extra insulator for the shifter. I can't find it either so I ordered a KE70 boot.

Some online picture comparing showed that the bolt holes probably line up and it looks less bulky than the AE86 one. The car doesn't have a centerconsole. Also found 33555-12090 at Amayama. Hopefully they have it and ship it soon. Fingers crossed ...
