Fuel Tank Modification
Hi!

Has anyone ever modified their fuel tank to minimise fuel starvation under heavy cornering with less then half tank of gas?

I've always had this problem in my car and recently my gas tank went rotten and I've sourced another from a AE85. It's interiour is even less divided and fuel starvation is a lot worse.

I'm not fond of installing another fuel pump and a swirl pot, so I'm looking for a cheap solution with a stock gas tank. The ideal solution would be building a small recipient that could be installed around the stock fuel pump assembly without the need to cut the stock fuel tank.

Any input will be appreciated.

Regards

The neatest solution would be to install an in-tank fuelpump-in-plastic-swirlpot assembly from a more modern car. But it is never going to happen without some cutting and welding.

[Edit] Above post uses a 99-02 Camaro LS1 (5.8 vCool fuel pump assembly.. they can be bought new for 140 dollars ex. shipping and import taxes from Rockauto.
VW used something similar on later golf GTI's and I'm sure many other manufacturers do.
