Fitting a VW golf mkII radiator pic´s added
I decided to go for this radiator because the electric fan and pressurized expansion container and other stuff are easy accesible here in Denmark. I got the radiator brand new for free, and it is a lot thicker in the cooling row than the OEM hachi model.
But it will need a lot of modifiyng since it is supposed to be used in conjuction with a pressurized expansion container, instead of the usual system on the hachi where the radiator alone is pressurized. But i have high hopes for this project, and hopefully this could solve some radiator problems for other hachi drivers as we go along. I will have pictures posted tomorrow of the radiator, and then next week when i will start the fitting. Wish me luck

Got hold of a VW pressurized expansion container, and had a friend of mine fix up a bracket for it.

Peter - nice work man.
i have the MK1 radiator in my car-. These radiators are very easy accesible and cheap, where the hachi radiator is pretty expensive, even if you buy it as a non original part. Even the electric fan can be bought as a straight fit at any junkyard for 40euro´s. Also this project has only set me back the price on the lid for the container, everyhing else has been "freebies" so far.
