I decided to go for this radiator because the electric fan and pressurized expansion container and other stuff are easy accesible here in Denmark. I got the radiator brand new for free, and it is a lot thicker in the cooling row than the OEM hachi model.
But it will need a lot of modifiyng since it is supposed to be used in conjuction with a pressurized expansion container, instead of the usual system on the hachi where the radiator alone is pressurized.
But i have high hopes for this project, and hopefully this could solve some radiator problems for other hachi drivers as we go along.
I will have pictures posted tomorrow of the radiator, and then next week when i will start the fitting.
Wish me luck Thumbs up!

Got hold of a VW pressurized expansion container, and had a friend of mine fix up a bracket for it.

Strange project but fair play! Thumbs up!

Do you lot abroad have trouble with the '86 rads then?? They are great rads as standard and are very efficient. Respect!

Cheers

I see your point, but i see it as an upgrade over OEM, kinda like the RX7 brakes. These radiators are very easy accesible and cheap, where the hachi radiator is pretty expensive, even if you buy it as a non original part.
Even the electric fan can be bought as a straight fit at any junkyard for 40euro´s.
Also this project has only set me back the price on the lid for the container, everyhing else has been "freebies" so far. Thumbs up!

How did it go with this project.

Did you get it mounted?

And is it working?

And working better then OE?

Hey Skassa....
Nothing new since last update. The car is in storage, so I have no way of doing anything during winter Sad
