That kind of rust can make a grown man weep bitter tears. And I still haven't seen pictures of the boot-floor and shock mounts in the rear.

I wish you lots of welding fun.

Another TE71Coupe owner.

Ps that car isn't a TE71 but an AE71. Smile

what makes it an AE71? my chassiscode says TE71.

Boot floor and shock mounts have been fixed by one of the previous owners, all little patches of steel plate, ugly as hell but it is solid as a rock!

I've been stripping the rest of the car today,

Stuff wich fell out of my sills after tapping it whit a hammer

Purschuim anyone?

This is how she is now.

Must remove the rear windows and all unneccasary brackets and stuff and then i can take it to the cagewelder.

Tonight i will make a cardbord example from the rusty parts so i can start making new parts.

Eric, the first letter of the chassiscodes from Toyota is the engine used in the car. Originally there was a 2T-G in your TE71, now there's a 4A-GE in, so that's why he said it's an AE71 now (you see where it comes from? Big Grin).

But in fact, it's still a TE71 Smile

It just an E71 now, I don't see an engine :-)

Keep up the good work!

E71, like EE80Liftback sais.

First letter is engine group, 2nd letter is platform group (Corolla is an E), numbers are for bodystyle (coupe, sedan, liftback etc. etc.)

Hey eric,

well trust me you can fix it. If you can't yourselve there is a master welder near den haag who can work miracles. ( he just bends the plates like original)

But anyhow just clear all the rust and cut it way as much as possible. Then get the plates done. What will the car be used for?

track / drift ? daily drive?
