MOT - and what else?
What name does "MOT" have in your country? Is it once a year, every second year?

In denmark its called "syn" and comes every second year. Brandnew cars can wait 4 years before the first "syn".

MOT - and what else?
in Belgium it's called "autokeuring" meaning "car chekup" is it has to be done every year
new car is after 4 year and after that every 2 year as long as you have less then a 100K
& I think Belgium has the worst rules about "tuning" your car
every part thats not stock you have to pay an extra 6 euro,
example:- lowering springs (groundclearance has to be more than 10cm) 6euro - exhaust ( no more than 90db) 6 euro
- bucket seat ,6 euro
- race steering wheel,6 euro
- stereo with amplifier, 6 euro
- bodykit, 6 euro (carbon fibre = FORBIDDEN)
- rollcage, 6 euro (welded= FORBIDDEN)
- other gearknob ,6 euro
& lots of more BULLSHIT
think I can go on for 2 pages if I want
within 2,5 years then my hachi is a oldtimer & then it will be much cheaper to pay for insurence & for "MOT" only your lights & brakes have to work, but then again it's not allowed to drive in the dark & you have to stay within a 20km radius of your house (exept official meetings)
if you don't want that , you'll pay for a full "MOT" & more insurence

...lol...thats stupid...

In Croatia its called "tehnicki pregled"...almost many things are allowed...my mom had a "Yugo" with engine of some fiat with 90-100 hp(and also tuned a little)...originally yugo had 55hp...but it could pass as 55hp car...but that was 3 years ago...

hmm, atleast you can pass now then, wasn't it so that a couple of years ago tuning your car in Belgium ment no more mot?

Anyways, in Holland its called APK, Algemene Periodieke Keuring I believe it stands for (i.e. General Periodic Checkup). Once a year for cars older then 5 years. Costs about 30 to 40 euros depending on which garage you go to...
