Sutter: I definetly could use some forbizan on other parts. Big Grin Big Grin
But I definetly hope you don't need this kind of work to be done. Huh

Oldskull: this is only the worst spot, I didn't fix all the rust. Sad

Apolan: yeahyeah, I know. I fixed up one small spot of the car and all other parts are still deteriorating. Angry

On the sill and the rear towers almost that kind of work what's needed but mostly surface rust.

Hmm, not to sure if he should have put that black stuff on, now you can't properly paint the thing anymoreSad

Also still not entirely sure what to think of that rubber mat...

But it does look like a nice piece of fresh metal has been put in, can't wait to see it for real.

Haha. Big Grin
Had to make up time at work. Crying

I had MOT at exactly 10:00 this morning, so the guy started to enter it in the computer and got a message from the RDW they needed to do a random sample (steekproef) with my bloody car. Angry

So the car needed to be on the bridge and to make room I had to remove my car to give another car room to exit the garage. While doing so I made real good use of the US front bumper. I made a turn outwards and thought my car was 2 cm shorter than it actually was. I hooked into the garagedoor and made the US bumper dent in for about 2 centimeters. No big damage: the bumper survived: it only lost the black matte paint and the garagedoor wasn't broken. Smile

The MOT guys were in sort of a hurry rechecking the car another time. They found:
1. one rear seatbelt broken
2. citylights do not comply the dutch law (after I told them!)
3. my popup-lightswitch is actually a foglightswitch (duh! I put it there!)

So the fixed 1. by cutting the seatbelts (after my approval), 2. by unscrewing the orange lenses and 3. by putting black tape over the foglight sign. Tongue

So for the next 30 minutes we were waiting for the guy from the RDW to show up and after he showed up he was checking the car for 1 1/2 hours, doing his job thourough since he smelled the fresh welding and found:
1. Rust (under the fender, not fatal)
2. Citylights have no lenscovers (is allowed since they are not cracked)
3. Rust (on the welds done by TE71Corolla, not fatal)
4. Even more rust all around the car (not really major rust)

So actually he found nothing he could fail the car for. Smile
Another year MOT-ed! Hurray!
