In miata circles there has been a lot of testing of the 225-45 tires. 225s on a 9 inch rim is now the standard there, with thousands of race kilometers and wins collected along the way (e.g. current 24h of thunderhill winners). No failures, so this particular case has been proven to work.
The 225 R888 is wider still and run by several local MX5s on 9 inch rims A wheel to steer the front of the car A pedal to steer the rear |
