nmwisima Wrote:I say, get yourself one of those two nice Hachi's,
drive her, drift her, love her, take care of her, keep her for a while...

When you do that, and u still wanna tune her, do some small stuf to the engine like an air filter or an exhaust and focus to suspension tuning, chassis stifness improvment, brake improvment, even do some styling tuning if that suits you...

Then, when you 're sure, go and get a nice 20V or GZE, or RB20DET or whatever you like...

I agree 100%.

You don't need to tune anything in any of those two cars. Learn to drive RWD first. Tune afterwards. I can't see how you want to tune (improve) something you've never even driven.

Yeah, write ask UK people in here, if they know anything about these cars...

My opinion is: Drive the hachi as it is for start. How do you know you want coilovers? Are you sure standar hachi suspension has problems, or is it just what you read?

Drive the Hachi as it is, and judge for yourself.
Dont matter what my taste in driving is, what ZaX's taste, what Banpei taste is...

Hmmm, both appear to be in very good state, but the red one looks a bit cleaner, it already had some modifcations and it is already packed with a lot of comfort for daily drive: powerwindows, ac(?), pacesetter.

Perhaps you should take both for a spin. Wink

i can insure both cars for under £500 both are imports i think,
I would buy the red one but it is a white one I want, i think with the money i save on the white one i cold get some of the stuff done anyway.

Big Grin i cant usually resist tuning a car in some way, i bought a winter run around with no plans to do anything to it then ended up lowering it Sad

I wouldnt have done the engine swap straight away anyway, as it will be my first RWD car i was going to get used to it first

I was also considering putting a rear cage in it and taking everything in the back out

Be careful if this is your first RWD car - especially in winter time in the UK.

My friend at work span his nice shiney M3 and crashed it yesterday in the blink of an eyelid.

The hachi has no safety features to help you when it all goes wrong. Just make sure your investment doesn't turn into an insurance write off. I suggest you go to a large open space and learn the car.

And listen to the man above ^^^^^^ he knows his corollas back to front.

Regards Ian.

. som ost people are in favour of leaving the car standard when i first get it, untill i am sure i want more power from it

Aggrr, you again... tuning an AE you dont have Angry

Well, I like tuning so cant resist answering:
For me (and only for me) there are 2 solutions to power the Hachi.

1st is to use a 4agZe

2nd is to use a 4age 16v and use the ITB's from a 20V, with cams, filter and full exhaust system combined with a piggy-back ECU or fuel management (Apexi S-AFC2 cheap way, GReddy e-manage costly way).

Ohh, did I mentioned its better to leave the Hachi stock at the begining?
