hey everyone, ive not posted on here in a wile as ive been away traveling and other stuff, and the ae86 has been in hiding in my garage for near 2yrs
anyway ive got alot of free time and had decided to start striping and tidying up and get alot of silly little problems finially sorted out, there is a big list of stuff it need but its mostly made up of parts and bits i Want to do to it rather than what it actually need to be "road worthy"
any way ive been making a start at tidying up the engine bay tho i haven't done much yet, here is some pics anyways as i know everyone love ae86 project pics
the project is more of a tidy up and clean up sort of thing but the mechanics will get a going over anyway.
all comments and suggestions welcome lads,
Cj

it was for sale ages ago, didn't get muchg interest in her, and anyone who did was offering me stupid money so its not worth it, cause it would be a loss in the bank and that i wouldn't own an Ae86 anymore lol
plus i Feck'n love this car lol

keep it man
The car look mint. I am not really fan of USDM bumpers, but the way you finished the lip on this bumper look mint and even more exclusive while this car in europe and convert to RHD. Keep it that way

What indicator lights did you use in the USDM bumper?
I tried fitting Suzuki Alto indicators, but they were too wide. Then I opted to fit a set of the second generation Honda Civic but never found them for sale for a reasonable price...

its a very clean crx...not long after a full body work restoration but its not mine ...i have more pics of it here if anyone wants a look.
enough about hondas
my trueno.
sinice my last photo update, ive got all the sound deading out, and haven't really found much more rust..only a few "krusty" patchs here and there, but mostly is clean
been working with a wire bruch on my drill in the archs and under neath on the passenger side, as my garage isn't all that big .
we cut alot of rust and crap out of the pocket and have "re-shaped" it and it just waiting me to work round to it with the grinder, seam sealer and stone chip!!.
anyways, here some pics of the work thats been going on
sorry about the phone pic's i'l try to use the digital camera next update

i know it seems to be going alot quicker than i thought it would lol the sooner its done the sooner i can roast the rear tyres of it
anyway here are a some pictures i took with my phone and proper camera of the work ive got done in the last day or 3.
almost finished the front arch, just to paint up one or 2 more parts, then of course im saving for shocks and springs of the new kind.
also got the rear arch/pocket closer to compleation
also been takeing random photos of parts ive collected and purchaced and just random shots in general
toyota crud-flaps
old exhaust system ...glad thats off lol
slightly polished janspeed 4-1 header
and how its sitting until tomorrow
oh and a better photo of the mr2 lights

update time again.
due to the need of a profesional welder and my complete lack of welding skills, i finished off what i could of the passenger side yesterday and put her back on all fours, and pushed it into the day light so i could brush out my garage
pictures of work that will need done properly
anyways before i pushed the car out my friend removed the rubish 4-1 manifold, it sounded like scaffolding rattling when he dropped it on the floor
pics of old vs new
manifold'less engine
gong back out to work at it now, so maybe more progress pics tomorrow, and probably random pics to cause i get distracted easly haha
cheers for looking. comments and ideas welcome etc

i can't wait to get it back on the road such a fun car to drive
im not sure if i can afford to get it painted before its m.o.t test, but i do like silver over graphite on the trueno, as there isn't many like it about.
then again its original colour is silver over black so.... i don't i love both colours haha
im saving for exhaust system, shocks, top mounts, and lowering springs, and theres a small'ish list of bits it needs for the test, like a horn and rear fog light and brake pads all round.
but welding is first on the list, so i should hopfully have more updates soon as the rust hunt continues haha
thanks
conor
