Hello guys and galls. My real name is Mark, i have started to rebuild my 86.

Tha story so far...

After wanting one for years and with the prices as they are in the UK i never thought i'd find one.
But i did, bloke had it for 13 years as a road rally/daily driver. Been stood for four years due to health reasons (his not the cars).
Its in a bit of a state with it been stood on his drive for all that time but it has a s/d cage in it, suspension has been fettled, q/rack, a few poly bushes here and there.

She needs a lot of TLC but hopefully i'll get round to making a start over the christmas break. I'll get some more pics up when i can.

I have ordered various parts ready to rebuild her once i have the shell finished such as bushes and a few battle version parts Puh

Currently looking in to the use of coilover shocks on the rear, i have contacted a company here in the UK ref some progressive springs, we used these during my days racing KP61's on the dirt and gave plenty of grip.

Wow! Shocked
In the first pics the car didn't look that rusty, but closeup it does have large holes. Neutral

Glad you're willing to put all the effort in the car! Thumbsup

AE86's need more owners like you! Looks like it was not a bad car before it was parked for 5 years, sickening how much damage can be done just by letting it sit in our climate for a while.
To poorly translate an old dutch saying: rest rusts...

wiechers cages are usually silver I think.. since it looks like the car is from GB, I would put my money on it being a safety devices cage

As promised i went through my paperwork, there was a compliment slip from safety devices telling me to ring the MSA quoting a certificate number.

So i did, they are now going to send me out a certificate for the cage Thumbsup At the cost of £16...
