Hi everyone, I am Eric from the Netherlands and today i bought me a TE71..
After driving Nissan 200SX for a few years, i got in contact with Jasper, TE71Corolla on this board, and found out about the AE86
Nice car, sort of oldschool JDM stuff.
And then Jasper showed me his TE71 Corolla!! From that moment on i knew i had to get me one of these cars, but i couldn't find one..
Last week i found one and bought it immediately..
Its white, original Dutch car, with loads and loads of work to it, but hey i've got one
Today i went to pick it up with jasper, and here are some pictures of it!
It is now in my garage, i had a quick look at it and it's got loads and loads of work to be done..
But, the winter isn't over yet..
So, from now on i will be asking a lot of questions about suspension, 4age, parts etc...... be prepared..

Well the TE is still in the garage, making plans for it now.
First i have to get me a roll cage, then i have to strip the car to the bare chassis so it can be seam welded, fix some rust holes and then it can be treated againts rust.
After that epoxy coating and 500 layers of the best white bright paint money can buy
I bought me a brand new front windscreen last week, because the old one had a crack in it.
Now looking for a new dashboard because the previous owner chewed holes in it and i want my car to look complete and new when i drive it.
have been drewling over techno toy tuning's website the last weeks, man i so got to have everything they sell
But first things first, the body must be rust proof untill the end of times.

500 layers of paint? That's not really reducing weight!
Jasper also stripped his TE completely bare and welded his cage in. Is that an option for you as well?

Mine will be treated like Jaspers.
and the 500 layers of paint is with a offcourse.
Just want to make sure all rust is gone and it will not return as long as i am living.
I'm not going to spend a shitload of money on a car and let it rust away..

Yesterday ik bought a brand new front and rear bumper, just the centre parts i still need to find the cornerpieces.
After finishing the work on my opel ascona i took a seat in my TE an looked around for a while and i started to realize what an enormous amount of work it will be to get the thing nice and clean again.
Everywhere i look i discover more and more rusty bits, fucked up DIY jobs from the previous owner(s) etc.
I sure hope i will find an email in my inbox tonight from Michel that i can come and pickup the 20v 4age he is selling. That will be a good reason to get the car fixed up again.

Rust, rust, rust, rust, rust
and offcourse none of the rusty bits is available @ Toyota anymore so i have to do some serious panelbeating myself.
Will strip the right side of the car tomorrow i can only hope that side will be better..
( maybe one of the moderators can relocate this topic to the projects page? it is starting to get a project now.. )

That kind of rust can make a grown man weep bitter tears. And I still haven't seen pictures of the boot-floor and shock mounts in the rear.
I wish you lots of welding fun.
Another TE71Coupe owner.
Ps that car isn't a TE71 but an AE71.

what makes it an AE71? my chassiscode says TE71.
Boot floor and shock mounts have been fixed by one of the previous owners, all little patches of steel plate, ugly as hell but it is solid as a rock!
I've been stripping the rest of the car today,
Stuff wich fell out of my sills after tapping it whit a hammer
Purschuim anyone?
This is how she is now.
Must remove the rear windows and all unneccasary brackets and stuff and then i can take it to the cagewelder.
Tonight i will make a cardbord example from the rusty parts so i can start making new parts.

Eric, the first letter of the chassiscodes from Toyota is the engine used in the car. Originally there was a 2T-G in your TE71, now there's a 4A-GE in, so that's why he said it's an AE71 now (you see where it comes from? ).
But in fact, it's still a TE71
