Hi guys,
I have to buy new exhaust.
I consider:
- Kakimoto N1 (from Speed industries)
- Greddy Extreme 2 (from Speed industries)
- Greddy Ti-C (from US). says its for us bumper
- Apexi Hybrid Megaphone Evo (from Pass)
I expect sporty but not extremely loud exhaust since I like engine (ITB) sound more.
Does anybody have experience with some?
Thx

If your car is mega low go for the first 2 as they go over axle, i would go for Kakimoto they are usually not too noisy.

Ah,

As for Apexi, I didnt get reply from pass about shipping yet
I also likr Kakimoto a lot even under axle, but the cost

Peter, get the OBX catback (not the manifold... yet), and then you can tell us how it fits
It's over the rear axle, and stainless, looks ok. May be a bit loud since the canister is small.
I'm thinking of that solution + a high flow catalyst (for instance from http://www.pdm-racing.com/products/toyota_corner.html#corolla .... they also sell the Megan catback, but it's under the rear axle I think), and maybe get some headers / manifold later.

Yeah, OBX looks fine also. Its over axle and lowest price (not so big risk then). But Greddy is also not overly expensive and japanese . The high flow catalist looks nice to me Nice idea. Thx

Somehow I was thinking, that exhausts which goes over axle are more suitable for cars with stock height (not lowered) because space between body and axle decrese with lowering
I was thinking about Megan Racing Toyota AE86 Drift-Spec Exhaust for our track car, but now I am confused.

So Im confused.
Which is correct for lowered car? Under or over axle?

Exactly! Thats the truth! If you mount an underdiff exhaust under a stock height car you will get problems when you jack up your car and indeed if you lower youre car alot you will not have enough room voor an overdiff.

It's easy to get confused with these cars with "live" rear axles. But think of it like this; you get to choose which of 3 places to bang your exhaust!
Either
1) squeeze your over-axle exhaust between the chassis and axle in every bump if your car is seriously lowered, or
2) have the axle hit your under-axle exhaust from above every time the load is off the suspension, for instance jacking the car up, or
3) have your under-axle exhaust so low that it scrapes the ground on every road surface other than a racetrack

This is my car with coilovers and hks hi-power (over axle) donīt hit anything, but it was hard to fit (length issues)

OK so it seems clear as for layout.
But do I have to also consider future engine mods, like high profile cams, ITbs... ?

for your car with long stroke suspension is over axle the only option, if you jump or jack your car the exhaust hit the axle or raise the fixing points.
Still if you have lowered car its enough space over axle. Dont forget the axle has mounting points and diff housing and exhaust sits between them.
Well underdiff can make more power but how much 0,000% ?
for road use you better get bigger capacity muffler in the back as the apexi. The power gain with tube type muffler is minimal and loudness maximal if you want that obx is good enough.
Btw. how much wants for it pass? it looks interesting.
and for the future mods the headers are significant more.

Underdiff scrapes alot on a lowered car, speedbumps are a no no, plenty of room over diff unless you are running very soft springs causing axle movement

Hi Stano,
nice to hear you again! Thanks for explanation.
I just found Apexi on Pass webpage but I didnt get reply from about it yet. Im also not sure that it is full stainless steel.
How about GP Sports EXAS. Not so expensive.
Blitz Realize TT-R is also an option.
