Seems like a pretty nice little car...Total weight below 1200kg, LSD, 6spd manual and 460mm (!) center of gravity...at least impressive! I have read a test review of a pre-production car by Autocar I think and it was more than promising! Waiting on official pricing, although rumors say cheaper than a 2-liter MX-5...lets see!

Yeap, seems that I did a small mistake converting lbs to kg... What's bad in a "good car for a sport daily driving"?! After all that was the spirit behind cars like the original AE86's/ MX5's... Small, cheap, fun!

The Subaru BRZ will be launched in the U.K early next year.
I'll be doing some of the track demo work as well as taking out
potential buyers for ride / drive sessions.
Can't wait !!

I don't know in the rest of Europe-World, but in Spain rumors says it name will be "GT 86"
"GT"...ok
but "86"...Why? our hachis are Corolla GT, Levin, Trueno and are AE86, if this car is a re-editon of ours, why Toyota don't name Corolla GT, Levin or Trueno??...or celica. From my point of view, this name is ridiculous, pure marketing using one of the best cars Toyota has built
On the other hand, in general I like the car

Is it wrong for toyota to cash in on the 86's popularity? I think not, they deserve it after taking the time to recreate something similar for today's market (instead of more teethless celica's/mr2's). Shame I wont be able to afford one anytime soon.

Since the AE86, Toyota never made any other small NA FR sport car.
(all the celica since 85 and corolla since 1987 are FF layout)
In that way, we have to admit it's a revival.

There is a pretty good reason for me to loath the car: it has been hyped too much.
Apart from that I must admit Toyota (and Subaru) did a very very very good job to fill a gap that they created themselves twenty five years ago. The car is everything the consumer wished for. The only question is how bad the price will be in Europe.

Most important news are that the first test drives talk about a PURE DRIVER'S car, comparing the steering wheel feeling with the top of line 911 and the overall experience more focused than than the Miata.
