Too bad that the pic of the red-coupe is oversaturated.. That thing was HOT!! Superclean, just the original C-coupe lines, sporty, pretty...amazing car.
I think Doc should also have a pic of a C-limo that we saw parked at a rally stage. White car...lets hope he chimes in.
By the way: good luck restoring this European AE86!! Normally I would have thought that the rust is too extensive, but after checking some British sites my perspective has changed. pretty much anything is possible.

Yesterday finally got a rebuilt starter, mounted it and started to bang myself in the head.
The engine is dead,i forgot to try it on crankshaft before i installed the starter.
So i did some work today
I was in garage since 7 AM (sleeping only from 5AM-7AM ) ,did some work on one of my brothers Fiat Uno,and after that did some work on my Kadett.
Removed the head, and saw that the upper part of the cylinders is ok,and the crankshaft probably doesn't work,so i decided to pull the engine out.
My oh my misfortune got me
Gonna dissasemble the engine in a few days.
Cheers.

Disassembled the engine today and found out that it's just stuck a bit.
Crankshaft is ok,and also the clutch is very good.
Gonna lubricate it good and than put all together in a few days.
Cheers.

Probably,i first thought the crankshaft is pretty much not working, but when i disassembled the whole thing found out it's probably stuck and standing still too long.
I hope it's going to start, wish me luck.

I don't have much time lately since i'm not home during the week when the school is running.
I got home yesterday and did some work today.
First broke all of the lime scale that collected on most of the engine parts, than washed the engine first with crude oil, after that with water and pressured air, left it to dry and after that dried the rest of the parts that remained wet.
Head before cleaning, pictures after are too dark,so i haven't uploaded them :grumpy:
Found one of my bro's old colored valve covers in the basement since mine is a bit damaged,so i'm gonna install that one instead.
I managed to get new head, valve cover and oil pan gaskets, but one of the panel gaskets needed a bit DIY action
For today, assembled the down part of the engine, and i hope i am going to install it tomorrow if i am going to have free time, since i got to travel back to the dorm. The crankshaft and the camshaft are in good condition,i hope it's going to start.
Cheers.

That is a realy nice Kadett! At the moment a must rebuild a Kadett B at work! In my opinion the Kadetts are the only good cars Opel ever made!
I hope you will fit the Irmscher spoiler back when the car is finished!
Have fun and good luck!

Actually,i'm not putting the irmscher spoiler since i like the car without it,and it's damaged. Well besides the old Kadetts there are Mantas, old Rekords and GTs that are relatively something.

Anyway, got home today, and started to chat with my father about the car, somehow i mentioned the lights, and than heard him saying: Yeah,i forgot to tell you,one guy told me that he has some parts for Kadett C and that he wanted to give it or trash it,so i got a free pair of front and rear lights.
Also there is one C2 type blinker, that my father insisted to get one more so that we don't need to fill the fenders, but i yelled at him that i don't want C2 blah blah,he gave it up only when i said that the hood can't match

My friend gave me 3 Intra 5.5x13 wheels, gonna be useful for winter tires and spare.
I found more money in this one than in the first one
THIS CAR HAS FLOOR PANELS!!! :scared::crazy:
Stripping down
Silicone and primer professionals, they primered the welded floor panel :ouch:
Rust is a must
Got the door a bit straighter.
And got one more wheel,Raid this time, gotta go to my bro's to pick up one more abarth wheel like the one from the picture but not damaged.
Also ,need to get the SR wheel from my first Kadett.
Cheers.
