idk if this question has been asked or whatever...

If I took the pumpkin off a GTS rear end and stuck it into my SR-5 rear end, will it fit?

Maybe, depending on what type of rear ends SR5's had.

The GTS has a T series rear end. Do SR5's have T or S series rears. LSD's are not available for S series diffs.

Have a look on your build plate and see what it says next to transaxle. T50 refers to the gearbox, the rear axle will be a code something like S314 or T282.

If you have a T series, yes you can bolt in the LSD, if you have a S series, no you can't as the ring gear diameter is too big - 6.7 inch vs 6.38 inch.

See here for more info on interpreting diff codes.

It's a US model ae86. The sr-5's ONLY came with the smaller 6.38" rear end with drum brakes. They did not come with the 6.7" (t-series) diff's with drum or disc brakes.

So no, he can't swap a gt-s pumpkin into an sr-5.

Same problem we have in Australia. We didn't get a GTS version here at all, and all Australian Sprinters were very basic SR5 type spec, or AE85 spec if you are from New Zealand. So we rely on importers to bring in t series rears from japan. $$$$
