Ooh, very nice project - I love it! I like your idea of plugging the sunroof hole by replacing the entire roof skin.
Are you going to use polycarb windows on the doors or the original glass windows and just jam them to fully closed position? I've been hesitant to cut away the inner frame of my doors because my racing class requires a tempered glass window on the driver's side. Losing the door lift mechanisms is a pretty good weight saving, though..
Robokill: my thoughts exactly.

jan pedersan: yeh man lookin at making 1 of the top 86's in aus, well try to with my budget but should be a great race car when finished,
panos 86: yepp got started on the roof today, its alot harder then we thought but will be done, will just take a bit more time and fabricating work to do
robokill: exactly man! haha but ahwell im young i live at home so y not not
fire hawk: haha yeh i didnt really want to plug the i was originally going to put a hole new roof on but my mate(pannel beater) thought of doing an alloy roof so thought y not lets give it a go, never seen it before so will be interesting how it turns out, thats if its possible without a massive roller machine lol
polly carb everything man besides front window, and yeh i was thinking about that aswell but this will manly be time attack, drift and unlimited under 2L class, thinks thats wat its called just had a mind blank
thanks for the comments guys ill have some pics of roof on sat
cheers

Very nice car,and excellent fact is that you will race the car instead of regular drift projects going on here.
Also, why not FRP roof, you full caged it?

Amazing!
About the 8AGE: I think that should be actually a 9AGE. The 8AGE is a 1.3 liter with the same bore as the 5AGE and a shorter stroke. The 9AGE was an unofficial overbored 7A, so my best guess is that you mean that designation.

this is one hell of a nice build, its looking very similar to what im up to with my coupe, as I'm prepping it for the track , especially the rear with removal of trunk floor and the rear section under bumper, but i also have a roof dilema as most know so i have to chop mines out too, so interested to see how u do the sheet metal one , and finish, but I'm contemplating FRP,

Is there any details about the internals? 7A block, ?crank ?rods, ? pistons? to reach 1.9l? If my calculation is correct, with serious overboring the stock 7a crank and rod can reach ~1850cc.

There are rumours about using 2zzge crankshaft with 85mm stroke, you can get close to 2liters, not sure if its true.

That's just talk, nothing had been confirmed. I'm guessing you're referring to that 9000rpm thread...

sorry guys been a bit slow on progress me and my mate a filled to the brim with private work and have no time for our own cars, but roof is pritty much finished off now and just need to mount the rally vents and its done,
got started on fabricating a flat floor on the driver's side to sit al low as possible, will be finished very soon,
and just waiting on the boot floor to be finished to do the fuel setup and thats everything done(for now)
so basicly a bit all over the place but just little things here and there no biggy,
but after all that is done ill be strait onto the body work, witch i have decided on going cherry black pearl with black bonnet, bumpers, and flares with a blood red cany interior (cage and floor etc)
lochun:thanks man not to sure ay but assuming around the 800kg?? and esstimated at 200rwhp
xjs: well wat ihave been told is that it is a 5age stroker kit from hks and is overborrd making it a 1920cc
thanks guys will try to get a good update for u very soon, car has to be done within this month coming so should have some progress up soon
cheers
adam
