Hey Miguel
Which brand are those front dome stiffener things you have on your car?
I have seen them a couple of times and Nagisa has a front strut in their lineup with them.
Who else builds them and could you feel an improvement?
Thanks
Tobias

My Trueno is the same color as yours and I was just wondering if you knew the paint code or where I could find it.
Keep it up mate, loving it all. |
Went and got some touch up pots from the bodyshop yesterday and asked: The Paint codes are:
Dark Grey: 6A5
Light Grey: 15Q

These were built by a friend & one of the T50 club members here in Japan, whose family owns a high technology metal fabrication shop. These stop flex of the chassis rails where they meet the firewall, when you hit a berm on a track, etc. It's a worthwhile mod if you're not seam welding / strengthening the chassis.
They make a lot of different stuff for club members. We just got some PHAT!! pillow ball rear linkages made up for 3 customer's cars. When we have pictures, I'll post 'em up

Hi Miguel
Thanks for the info.
Sounds like a good mod for now since I will not seam weld until a strip down i s needed.
Do you know who has them in their lineup without doing special orders?

thanks projectrollas & momo-gt and anyone else I haven't mentioned
This coming week, mosqiton and I will be taking 2 Aussie AE86 nuts out for an evening in Tokyo, in our AE86's. If Dai Chan and his 20V blacktop takumi replica is finished with mapping, then he might come out too... We'll be using camera mounts and shooting from various positions, to make a short video of what it's like to drive in Tokyo and what you can get away with out here. Hopefully it won't take long to get the editting done. Some more porn to come, I daresay....

This sounds like fun. I used to make the odd in car/track video. Came to an abrupt end when my bullet cam hit the deck on the bottom of a Lotus Exige at about 80mph. Anyone wanna see?

Thanks Aram. A project's never finished, but I've pretty much run out of things I want to do to it, now.... I intend to drive it whenever I get a chance to go to the track or interesting roads.... .
I've started working on another project now, an E30 M3 - which has been sitting under a car cover for a year solely awaiting the completion of the AE86... Plan is to make it a daily driver with some choice mods (That's what my intention was originally for the AE86 ....)
I'll post a new thread sometime.

Any E30 M3 project wants switching over to electronic management and a big assed carbon airbox fitting for the DTM intake growl! Nice choice Miguel!
Any word on your little video?

Well, that is my idea aswell, I'm putting alot of work into it now, which is fun to do, but when it is finished it just has to keep on driving.
I don't want to keep fiddling on it, outside of some things I already know I don't have the cash for now, but when it's done it's done.
I have a Hachi waiting for some TLC after the Impreza is done too, although I'm not nearly going to put as much work into that car as into the Scooby.

I'm not a BMW guy normaly but I'm active on a Dutch forum www.driving-fun.com which is a spin off from a BMW site that has quite a few BMW addicts.
Also a few guys have the E30 M3 and I must say that it is the one BMW I would like to have, if I had to choose one.
Most guys on that board also believe the E30 M3 is the last of the "real" M series, after that they got to heavy etc.
You got any pics of it?
PS
Did you recieve my pm about the wheels?
I don't know which you prefer, pm or mail?

dont hate me but ae86 should be the replacement of the e30M3 for me as i never had enoungh money to afford one. But what happened, AE86 grove to be obsession for me.
As i told before very nice detail finished levin and i await also fotos from the M3 project. If you put the same effort in it, as on the AE86 it would be stunning. (its that the red one you had on the page for sale?)

hmm this wednesday sounds like it's gonna be FUN!.
Miguel you better bring that special licence when we head out ok! hint hint
I got stopped by the cops on saturday night (or should I say sunday morning) they searched my car and told me off for not having my Shakken Sho in the car. Also for having the razor blade in the glove box with screw driver and scissors!
They even had the nerve to ask me what my job was (like duh I steal cars for a living and stab people).
Bunch of Bananas. They let me go anyway with the loud engine running the whole time anyway.
LOVE JAPAN!

At the risk of going a little further off topic - manipula, Yup - the modifications include the usual suspects.. A DTM style carbon air box, Alpha N ECU, injectors and 284 Schrick cams. Nothing too extreme.... !
It's a Silver one.... I'd better not post any pics of the M3 on here...But this is a thread about my AE86, not the beemer! I'll post a thread sometime... Must take pics, must take pics, must take pics...
Dinges, I've not been at the office the last 3 days or so - Easter break n'all that . I'll get that PM replied to soon, buddy!.
btw - e-mail's usually better, or an inquiry via our website is cool.

No Easter break for the Japanese (Nor Christmas)!
Fortunately, as most customers worldwide have a holiday and business therefore usually gets a little quiet in such periods, we took the opportunity to have a break ourselves too

LOVE JAPAN! |
Was out with Mosqiton and a couple of his friends last night. Went for a bit of Sushi, then a run into Tokyo first, followed by a stint on deserted dock roads, just outside Haneda Airport. We woke up a sleeping truck driver with all the noise we were making, lol! - But he just left us to it.
Shot some footage of a little street mischief, but it'll have to wait till I get a chance to go through and make a short video of it all, sometime..
My car broke down... One minute it was fine, next minute the alternator light came on and it lost the power steering too... Hmm, it's lost a belt, I thought!
Turned out the crank pulley's rubber part that insulates the inner pulley had disintegrated. Putting the belt back on was no use, it just spat it off again instantly. No way I was going to limp home, so we took the quick release steering wheel off and locked it up outside Knight Sports's workshop, then 4 of us piled into Mosqiton's car (2 seater with cage, lol) and went home. This morning we got a spare crank pulley, went out there in the trusty Pajero armed with a large box of tools and some coolant. Removed the radiator and switched it over. Car's now all OK again. It's back in the garage, washed, fueled up and ready for the next night of fun...
Thanks for the ride home, Mosqiton!
