Ae86 shoot out???

Hi guys

We were discussing this topic once and I want to get this back to life.

Who would be interested for a Ae86 european shootout?

I was thinking about it to go down this way but inputs are much appreciated:

track would depend on budget and date for the event ( I was thinking about Hockenheim, Anneau du Rhin, Zaandvort or others).

classes like
- no mods (only tyres and lowering)
- minor mods (only 16v 4age)
- open

If we would get this rolling now we might be able to pull it off in fall this year. Would depend on track though.

I was thinking on a track which is rather central in europe, somtething like Anneau du Rhin (also rather cheap) or Hockenheim (quite expensive and probably no date this year).

As mentioned this is just an idea at this point but I think this wold be great fun. And everybody who know the Ae86 battles in Tsukuba can't deny it.

So post your ideas asap and let me know who would be participating. But please be sure about this since calculations of costs and budget depend greatly on number of participants.

Tracks I am thinking about so far are all on the line between Switzerland and Benelux.

I do have Anneau du Rhin in mind and one other track in France.
Both would not be too expensive and might still have some dates open late this year.

I need to know though who would be in this for sure.

I just started talks with a new racetrack in France.
It is about 1.5h north-north-west of Basel.

Would this work for you guys???

Comon I do need some more input on this.
If there is not enough people who will participate there is no need to invest so much time into this.

2.5km
a few dates still available this year.
very good price during the week and reasonable during weekends.

It is in France.

About 1.5h drive North-North-West of Basel.

You can also think of Spa or Zolder (Belgium), but in the end it will be hard to get so much AE's together for such a day.
You need at least around 40-50 cars to get the price reasonable...

Yeah that is why I am aiming more towards a smaller unknown track at the moment.
Tracks like this one or Anneau du Rhin ar below 5000 Euro per day. So it would be much easier.

Ok guys, I just talked to the people at Anneau du Rhin today.
They are full until November but in that month we would get it for a really good price.

Who would be in for this in November?

Price per participants probably around 200 Euro.
If more people participate it will be less.

So nobody is in for this?

To keep costs down I will organise a regular trackday then.
All Ae86 will compete the whole day for the fastest laps. This will be in traffic with other cars on track.

There will be 3 classes:

Class 1
very little mods
only tyres, shocks and springs

Class 2
street legal (to my standards), 4ag 16V engine

Class 3
open

There is a noise limit of 102dB at 4000 rpm on this track.
