As some of you know I bought car from Mux
MY ae is in preety well condition fom her age - just a little rust, very good suspension, nice interior and healthy and fast engine
I'am planning to do a lot of things- whole chasis, suspension, engine and interior
Whole way to Poland - 1500km was very nice and pleasant
There where no incidents. After crossing Polish border, when I was close to home I've starded to have fun with the car:D
I did not supposed that stock car give that mount of fun and pleasure!! I don't need 2 way LSD - with stock car goes all the time slide - incredible...
Now I'am buying a lot of things all over the world for my project
Today got OBX headers
Unfortunately because of condition of Polish roads i want to sell this suspension. There is some problem with front damper - need to check what is going on. But rear are in perfect condition - Mux put them into the car just few days ago. Springs are 6kg front and 4kg rear - (Mux if I'am wrong correct me)
Does any one use Tein SS?how is it working - I can buy them for very nice amount
Below some pictures of car, from the trip and others
Hope you'll like my project, I'll try to put pics of everything I'll do

hey man! good to hear that the car arrived safe! I doesnt think the front damper is worn out because its only on the car for a year or something. Maybe the coilovers are wrong mounted that could be because for this car the sleve is not welded at the strut.
I got the same suspension as mux did and yeah i can imagine that its to hard for bumpy roads. I think the Greddy kit is very nice for u. According to Oldskull its sporty but still very comfy. Give him a PM and youll hear from him.

BTW i want to advise you to mount a adjustable panhard rod. Because of the lowering the rear axle isnt exactly on the right spot

next buy is 4 links kit, panhard rod and RNP 4.77
Can you recomend this side? http://www.technotoytuning.com/productlist.php?vehicleid=1
About suspension I can choose between Greddy, Tein SS or Koni 1150 - wish to know your opinions

Yes its a good one. I bought my suspension parts there too. The owner of the shop, Gabriel Tyler, is also on this forum. When I mailed the guy I always got a reply the same day

took it to pieces. That what I supposed its oil was dirty water.
Whole column was not good composed, because of that it was loose and hiting.
A lot of water and dirt got into the column but the shock is ok. I've cleaned everything, removed the rust on rifling/thread, applied grease/lubricant and screwed it o loctite.
What is the Gabriel's nick?

WP,
Glad to hear you found the problem with the front strut. As I emailed you privately, don't give up on the Tokico's just yet. I would keep them on the car and adjust them to a comfortable setting. Your problem is not with the shocks but the springs, they are just to stiff for polish roads.
You will find that most kits out there, including Greddy and Tein will have the same problem, they are usually 8kg/7kg springs, so heavier then you have right now.
As for not properly constructing, the fluid inside is coolent and its in there for a purpose. I think the only thing that went wrong is that the spacer got jammed and after tighting everything space was created when the spacer finally vibrated into place. Thats what you get for putting everything together in the middle of the night after a long day of work
P.S. garbiel is on the forum but I don't think he is very active here. His customers mostly are in the US. Better email him, the email should be on the T3 site.

My advise is buy 4kg/mm front springs, 3kg/mm rear springs and adjust the tokico's to a lower setting. I think you will be very pleased with the ride, and saves yourself alot of money.
But thats my opinion It's your car now

Nice buy!

Hi everyone!
Today only good news
I've repaired the damper, and I adjust the suspension.
I maked it 5 turns and its really surprisingly good! It's stiff but works on wholes. I wont change it now its really good!
so info for you guys: dont EXCITE to much, It stays with me!!
I've changed intake filter - old looked like after WW2. Incredibly dirty and ulgy. Immediately i felt the difference - now car can breath normaly!
After that I washed the engine.....(pic before cleaning)
Somewhere near header came out a hole - a little of exhaust gases gets to the cabin and it has nice sound I'll do it in next week when I'll get back home.
Mux say the truth to the people - when have you cleaned the interior? I got black like coalminer after cleaning it

WP,
Told you the tokico's are good quality!
Great that you changed the filter, that was indeed long overdue, its been on the car for well over 4 years.
Hmm, a hole in the header? Thats not good. Well you got the OBX header so that should fix it up nicely. The header is still the original one and I never removed it.
You should dyno it when you get the header on. Even with the old filter and the current exhaust last time I dyno'ed it, I got some real nice figures. Though everyone still claims that it must be the dyno that was wrong
As for cleaning, Uhm cleaning? what is cleaning?
I actually tried to clean the interior a little before you came round, the cleaner I used just ended up leaving a bit of a white rash on the seats, cleaning was never my thing, Djexor will tell you he has knocked me on the head everytime we meet because I don't clean my car.
I build you a car with good suspension (albeit small problem with one shock install :shame:). Much more valuable then a clean car

Today was my first day on wet tarmac! OH SHIT! It was big fun and hard job!
60-80km/h, one touch of steering wheel, soft touch of gas and 200m slide
i know that tyres are in medium condition but its loosing grip so lightly!
it's fantastic car, gives big pleasure, big negatives are small problem with controlling wheels/steering wheel but I'll change it.
I went for 1hour drive around the city, and I cant loose smile from my face! I think I wont sleep tonight
My idea for interior was whole black/grey but dash board and else are blue. Any one want to change?Or any one is selling his black set?

Paul,
Good to hear that you're having so much fun. I never dared take her out for some serious drifting fun. Here on the streets the chance of hi fines or loosing your license meant, and drifting events are either far away, or expensive.
The easyness to slide has more to do with the suspension setup, camber (did you adjust that to normal yet?) and the fact that you are driving a hachi then with the tires. From the time I got it, to when I sold it to you, a lot of work went into improving the grip on the front, but as a result, its easier to slide out the back by overpowering or shifting the balance of the car.
When I first got it, it wouldn't slide the rear out at all, especially when the tires were bad, you would be shouting about how much understeer you have with the car Read my first posts on the forum and how frustrated I was with the car always under steering on short track.
These are actually the best tires I've had on my cars since I got it. It proved its worth over and over on the track. Try Yokodrama tires, then you know what sliding is.

for inperfections in bad roads (i imagine its the same crappy roads in warsaw that we have here in slovenia) the best solution is progressive springs. since you have adjustable hight already, you might be able to squeeze in a litlle soft spring with about 4 or so flat type coils very close to each other, like they use in rally cars.. or just get new progressive springs.
For smooth racetrack the best is non-progressive but as soon as you go rallying or drive on bumpy street roads you almost need that. my friend used to race in rallies and hillclimb and he said, that when he tried non-progressive type springs, he didn't dare to push the car at all on hillclimb/tarmac rally as it was loosing grip over bumps in the road and the car was very dangerous to drive.

Hey Apolan,
When your springs are a to high spring rate and/or your dampers are set to stiff, the suspension can't react to the uneven road surface fast enough and that results in alot less traction and a lot more scary ride.
Progressive springs 'solve' this by having a low spring rate when the car is 'neutral' and a progressively higher spring rate as the spring gets compressed.
The tradeoff is that the suspension becomes unpredicatable due to the always varying spring rate.
From what I understand, proper linear springs with correct damper settings is preferable over progressive springs for full control of your car even on low quality roads.
Still if the road surface is really bad, going progressive is better.
I think Pawel managed to adjust the setup to his wishes though.

I'm not sure, im not a racing driver so i din't have the chance to test many setups.. But still if you set the shocks to soft, than stiff springs will bounce too much; too stiff and as you said the spring is too "restricted" and teh car will bounce again.
But i dont think that 6kg/mm or even 4kg/mm spring can contract fast enough for small imperfections at speed. those springsrates only work when the full weight of the car leans on them "slowly" (ie corners). the bumps require much softer springrates and very little travel. thats why you see racecars launch up when they drive over curbs on a racetrack. the stiffer the spring, more dramatic the resoult. but it is true that this progressive springrates add abit of an unlinear feel. thats what i think, please correct me if im wrong, as i said im no expert..

6/4 or 6/5 like I'm running is not bad at all on most roads. My setup is way more comfortable than progessive springs with yellow konis.
Bas, I have no problem running the dampers on full soft. It still handels great. The HTS might have a bigger window of adjustment but I don't know
