Just installed rear set today and drove for a short miles to test how its feel. For the first experience i feel quite strange Puh but they not really stiff. I need to try again next time.

I picked up front struts from Mux last weekend and today I tried to take the damper off the struts. I got one off but another one is stuck I cant take the screw off!!! Stupid Stupid Stupid

get a big wrench and a big hammer, and hammer it loose, it worked like that for me.

Those bastards can be stuck very solid in there indeed Smile

are they weld on the original ones?

I really need some short stroke in the near future, so i'm looking at several options atm Very Happy

I need to cut the oem struts. I just need the spindles from the oem struts. because new coilovers does not have spindles. hope you understand it.

Or is it right at the bottom, where the strut meets the spindle?

So the struts and spindle is one piece? and if you want to fit coilovers or other dampers you need to hack and weld?

I should think the struts are pressed into the spindle, just doesnt make sense to make a complex piece like that from one piece. I would not be very comfortable with just a weld keeping the whole strut connected to the spindle. Heat from welding can have the weirdest effects on material properties.

Same here, but then again, so much ae86 lowered, using coilovers, they al cut and welded the damper and spindle together?

99% of the time, coilover perches are either welded to the strut directly, or sat on a new perch that is welded to the strut. The difference to me is the fact that if a perch breaks off, you'll bottom out your suspension, but it will stay together as long as the shock doesnt break. If the whole strut breaks off of the spindle, then your front suspension falls apart.

V'ruit... Staat dat als die las breekt, en je veerpoot los komt van de naaf, je stukken verder van huis bent dan als alleen een veerschotel/coilover breekt..
