Little progress in here, but it is not on the hood yet, maybe after couple of weeks...
I change a new RWD-waterpump and stuff to it (before there was FWD-waterpump)
This is what it looks now
and new engine mounts

I got few days ago engine back to own place and tomorrow I go find a new hose to oil cooler, new waterhoses should come on friday...so probably on monday I will get engine running first time after accident. I have also change tyres (at last) and same time I change rear absorbers to TRD 8-ways.

Didn´t have to wait to monday, I woke up 8.00 because my phone was ringing: Your waterhoses has arriwed.
Great, so I picked up those too, when I search oil hose.
I just started it...

Yesterday I got a set new wheels (COMPOMOTIVE MO) and I also started to modified a left wheelbase, because when I enlarged it, clutchpedal had not enought space...
And today I got a new gravel tyres (MATADOR SM-8 16/65-15)
Still need to get it on dynamometer and get it adjusted, before rallysprint on 16.9. in the neighbour municipality.

Bad news.
Your distributor wont work
I recognise it as a 3A-U dizzy.
The advance system built in turns the wrong direction when used in a 4age. The car will RETARD heavily as you rev it.
If you want to stick with distributors, try the 4K-U with mag pickup.
If you have the adaptor block for the 4A head it can be used.
Kit comes from Japan.
Best bet, go VEMS with EFI!
VEMS can just control spark if you want to use carbs.
Then in future youll have EFI capability waiting

You are absolutely wrong. It works. I have changed it rolling on right direction
You can see the changes in here: http://s33.photobucket.com/albums/d61/Kleemola/Jakaja/

It goes very well all way to bottom, picture is lying a bit .
Before that box, it did go down, but i have to move my foot a bit same time when pressing the pedal, and my foot used to a little bit under the brake pedal and that was not funny. Don´t worry, I know what I´m doing.
Here is a picture from one Group-F Starlet, also larger wheelcases.

Cool.
We only had one of those distributors and didnt want to take it apart.
How did you get the plastic under the rotor arm off?
Do you ahve more pictures or information about the sequence to disassemble the unit?
What other engines did they come on?
Very cool article!
I ahd the "Spark advance vs Vacuum" curve somewhere.
Oh wait, did you remove the vacuum advance mechanism?

It is very easy to dissabled, sorry no other pictures. Plastic, with little screwdriver.
Middle axle is from 4A, but I have to weld a another lowerpart on it (without that it wouldn´t work).
Upper rotor is also from 4A, but I grinded pins and hit them out, then I put rest of it on a lathe and take that lowerpart off. Then I turned it around, pull the pins down and soldered it together.
Body is from 2E (1.3 12V) carb. engine, because it fits better to cylinder head, but I had to lathed it a bit.
Electrical system is also from 2E
Yes, I dump vacuum advance mechanism, for me centrifugal governor gives enough advance on right time.
Those three single wires goes to revolution limiter, so don´t care of those.

The roofs left corner had little damage, also left A-pillar, but sunroofs hole/plate is still unvisible
