Hi! My name is Imants and I have recently became an owner of one and a half AE86 Coupes. The silver car is running fine and is my daily driver , while the Supra rest during the winter. The second car is currently with a dead engine and will become a project car very soon.

Hi! My name is Andris. And I'm friend of Imants. I own VW Golf II gti 16v. And I'm here because I will participate in Imant's ae86 project.
Widar: we have lots of them:). I have information about ten-eleven cars (not so bad for country with population ~ 2,5 million). And I think there's more...
Ivan141: But good news is that Imants own unique hatchi

Well, two weeks ago we had some snow, now it is long gone. We had some more yesterday, but seems that it will not last either. I can't wait to get to the track again

Cool!
Are your cars imported from Finland during the early 90s?
Welcome both, btw.

Like for most of the used cars in Latvia there is a great chance that they were imported from Germany.

alimonos, actually I can not tell much about the conversion, since it was done by the previous owner. All I can say it is not plug & play. A metal piece is welded to the hood to bend it down and meet the grill so it looks similar to AE82 hood. The fenders are cut (and maybe also welded) to fit the headlights. Custom mounts are fabricated for headlights.
ZaX, we still don't know what's wrong with the engine. It is too cold outside to have pleasure working on the car. However the engine on the third car is supposed to be less or more ok, so probably we can assemble one engine from the two, or even use it as it is.

Fii's new hachiroku pictures from previous owner. We think this will be our project car.
Body (except damaged front) is in much better shape as dark grey hachiroku. It has broken differential and front.
Viewed 83 Time(s)
It was quite cheap (~300 Euros)

Left light damaged (on all three Fii Corollas)

WTF!?!
Then again: 300 euros here is different than 300 euros in Latvia.

Corollas in Latvia isn't so popular. And previous owner couldn't afford to fix a car. This price for regular crashed 1985 car isn't so low after all.

The previous owner calculated that he has to invest about 1000-2000EUR in order to make that car in great shape. It is quite hard to get parts for the Hachi in Latvia - he could not find the differential nor the headlights. Luckily I happen to have a broken Hachi, which have exactly the parts needed for this car.

Well, at the beginning I felt that 2000EUR I paid for the gray and the silver car was a bit too much. But now if I have two relatively good cars(plus some parts) for 2300EUR, that makes it 1150EUR a piece, I think it is quite good deal.

Well, what I meant was that compared to the wages 300 euros is a lot more in Latvia than in Holland. If I could find something like that I did not think about it for even a second: just buy it.
