Top spec uses the RB20DET. imho much nicer looking then the C33 Laurel, but thats just a matter of taste btw Okachan from YashioFactory says that A31 is a "S13 sedan"

Oh wow, he really said that? it surely is good to know. The s13/s14/r32/c33/y31 all share similar parts to the a31 like the suspension, differential, etc. Sometimes, even the dash is almost similar.

peter møller,
Thank you so much for the link. I'll check them out.
oldskull,
I guess I would have to find parts that are more universal for both lhd and rhd models.
Sutter,
It still cool. At least I learned somethings here.

Yeah, they have those in Malaysia and Thailand but their forums are very different. My car is actually running but I am just sourcing some parts before I start with the RB swap.

Hi,
New to the forum but I think I got some info on this topic.
There is actually LHD cefiros in Europe but they where not sold with the name Cefiro. They are called Nissan Laurel Altima and have the chassi code MA-31 but is excactly the same as the A-31 only it is LHD.
The ones in Europe you will find in Turkey.
http://www.araba.com/ilan/nissan/altima/ara.php...ltima&liste=1
This model was sold in China, some arabic countries and also in some caribian countries. I am quite not sure wether the cars in Turkey where brought in as second hand cars from some of these arabic countries or sold there as new cars.
I am from Norway but are living in Thailand where Cefiros and tuning of these cars are BIG business. We got thousand of high powered Cefiros all over Thailand and especially in Bangkok.
I am actually dying to get hold of all the parts needed to make a LHD conversion of my car too!
I am building a widebody A31 with the face off of a R32GTR, the rear lights from a R32 GTS 4 door and with a +700 hp engine.
Please anyone let me know if there is a LHD wreck somewhere or parts so I can do this conversion!
Here is a widebody example of the A-31 Cefiro in Bangkok which is just finished built.
Its 2JZ powered with two bigger IHI Turbos and got around 1000 hp.

I was doing a bit of research at this site trying to find some info on a set of JDM AE86 Kouki fogs w/grill that I am selling and I stumbled across this thread...It side tracked me BIG-TIME!
The A31 Cefiro...the love of my life. I've never put as much blood, sweat and DOLLA BILLS than I did with my A31 Cefiro. I know this is an old thread with the last post being over 3 months ago...but I just HAD to get a word in, too! Other than here in Japan I had no idea that A31's were available anywhere else (with the exception of used car imports to Australia). It was nice to see these are available in other countries. I would recommend one of these cars to ANYONE looking to build a nice drift car.
This was my JCI(Japanese Vehicle Inspection)/street legal A31 Cefiro (after an A31 before it and a C33 Laurel before it) after about 3 years of work. Drifting was killing me financially and the need for a larger, more practical vehicle to accomodate a growing family led me to leave the drift scene behind (:cry). This is a revised, single-page website that I had put together to try and sell the vehicle to possible buyers in Australia (I changed it from the original 'ad' format to what it is now but it still sounds a bit like a sales pitch....).
I ended up parting the whole car out to get more money but this is what it was:
*The exterior:
*Full Aero including front bumper, side steps and rear half bumper
*headlights are the square type (non-projector type) with the yellow fog light diffusers taken out
*clear front bumper turn signals
*kouki (later model) chrome grill
*kouki tail lights
*Silvia OEM option SR20DET TWIN CAM TURBO emblems on left and right fenders
*KOENIG original K5S 17inch wheels
The rear wheels are 9J. The tires are 235/45ZR17 Dunlop FORMULA FM901's.
The front wheels are 8J. The tires are 215/45ZR17 Dunlop FORMULA FM901's.
Suspension:
*complete S14 K's 5-lug/4pot aluminum front calliper brake swap. There are 25mm wide tread spacers on the front hubs to make room for the S14 rotars and 4pot calipers.
*HKS Hipermax D' with 32 level adjustable dampers
*HKS front and rear camber plates
*Cusco front and rear OS (oval) strut/tower bars
*GAB extra strength front stabilizer bar
*aluminum upper and lower collars on rear crossmember
*Do-Luck rear floor cross bar
Interior:
*Bride reclining race seat
*MOMO steering wheel w/quick release
*S13 SR20DET Silvia tach incorporated into Cefiro cluster
*original (a fancy way of saying 'made by hand') fiberglass ''drivers view'' dash board gauge pod/panel holding four 60mm GReddy white face gauges each w/peak hold, warning lights and adjustable warning light adjuster knobs.
*The 5th gauge is a boost gauge and is housed in a GReddy gauge pod on the drivers side a-pillar.
*Control units for the gauges and the piggy back FCON-V that powers the engine are neatly tucked in the glove box
*Trust racing belt
Engine/drivetrain:
*The engine is a black top S13 SR20DET overhauled 4 months ago using all NISMO racing metals (bearings...)
*TOMEI 256° drop-in cams
*Trust rocker arm stoppers
*Trust 1.2mm metal head gasket
*NISMO 555cc Injectors
*Aftermarket surge tank with buff finish
*3mm wrapped exhaust manifold
*the turbine is a Trust T518z with 8cm exhaust housing. It was purchased at a Trust vendor at the 2003 Fuji Speedway D1 Tournament. The Trust vendor said that it was originally on a Trust show car and had less than 1,000km on it. It now has around 15,000 to 20,000km, but is still running like new...no oil leaks and no abnormal shaft play.
*chrome plated valve cover
*T518z turbine:
*a Trust exhaust outlet pipe connects to a flex down pipe. Of course, there is a straight pipe afterwards. The straight pipe connects directly to a GP Sports exhaust.
*oil filter relocator kit (GREX/GREDDY HYBRID)
*GReddy Suction kit for Z32 air flow meter
*HKS metal air filter (gold)
*Z32 air flow meter
*FCONV
*GReddy turbo timer and Profec Boost Controller
*aftermarket aluminum straight cut water outlet pipe for enhanced coolant flow
*FLEX-A-LITE dual fan
*2 core radiator
*brake master cylinder stopper
*aluminum steering collar
*aluminum pulleys on the water pump and p/s pump
*NISMO low temp thermostat
*Trust GT-R front mount intercooler
*front mount oil cooler
Aftermarket coolant outlet pipe (under the distributer)
*the a/c works great! The compressor and aac valve are turned on with a toggle switch next to the electric trunk opener. The compressor, condensor and evaporator are ALL S14 SR20DET components.
*NISMO 2WAY Diff
*Trust oil pan
*R32 GT-R fuel pump
*Trust #8 Platinum plugs
*URAS extra strength engine and transmission mounts
*NISMO extra strength clutch pedal
*OS Giken Twin Plate Clutch w/dampers **the clutch was overhauled along with the engine, so it is in perfect condition, also!!**
*URAS engine mounts
*URAS mission mounts... the fabricated metal mission mount/brace is also JCI/street legal.
Before the surge tank was added, the car was dyno tested and tuned. It put out 360 horsepower with 45kg/m of torque.
Here is registration showing that it is a JCI/street legal swap here in Japan. For those of you that do not know, E-A31 (inside of the far left yellow circle) is the chassis code for the Cefiro. The Kanji character following the A31 chassis code number reads ''KAI'' which means modify/modified. It is modified with the SR20(DET) engine (inside of the far right circle):

wow, just been reading all the questions about the a31 cefiros. Im amazed that they were called laurels in europe as i have owned an s13 Nissan silvia, a c33 Nissan Laurel and now a Nissan a31 Cefiro.
With regards for parts, both the nissan laurel c33 and a31 cefiro are identical apart from the obviour body shape. I myself have used laurel parts on my cefiro. Also when it comes to parts such as suspention, the cefiro and larels will inter-change like lego along also with the s13 silvia and possibly the s14 and s15 non turbo models which makes parts easyer to get. With parts such as brakes, you can get these from a non turbo r32 skyline unless you want to upgrade your braking in which case you can easily changed the brake rotors and calipers.
In New Zealand the a31 cefiro is very sort after and is common within out New Zealand D1 drift Grand Prix rounds were they run an rb26dett engine ( skyline gtr engine)or a hybrid rb30det engine (custom rb26dett engine made to be 3ltr with massive single turbo)
I myself have a Nissan cefiro with custom paint, 17' wheels, Fully adjustable drift spec suspention along with adjustable camper and damper, 5 speed manuel conversion, custom speedometer callobration box, 5' exhaust, modified interiour, new tyres, light engine upgrades and a few more other things.
In New Zealand and im sure other countries these modification parts are easy to get a hold of.
Some tips if you would like to modify your own Cefiro and cannot get a hold of cefiro parts, it is possible to get adjustable suspention for a sivia of any year which will fit easily into the cefiro. Also skyline brakes and interiour seats will bolt in without any custom work. It is also easy to mould the r32 skyline model 4 door bodykits to fit the a31 cefiro.
Hope this helps any one in Europe wanting to built a modified Cefiro!!! any more questions or help just ask and im happy to help out!!!
Here are a few pics of my a31 cefiro. Still have a few mods i would like to make tho.
Enjoy!!!
