Please, to keep the forum readable for both people without 1GB broadband or people with low resolution screens: keep the images as small as possible!

Also make use of the attachment mod. It automatically scales the image to a low bandwidth size with a popup for the people who want to see the full scale image. Do not be afraid to use this: it will only resize for the thumbnail, not the whole picture.

To use the attachmentmod, just use the browse button, open the file you want to attach, put in some comment and it should be alright. If you want to attach multiple files, just click on "Add Attachment" and the file will be submitted and another attachmentbox will appear. In this way your attachments will come out just reverse, so'll see if I can fix that. Just press submit if you want to finalize the posting.

I've upgraded the limit to 10 pictures per posting, so that should not be a problem anymore either. The other limit is 512kb for an image, which is quite big for an image.

If you experience any other problems with the attachment mod, please put them here or just pm me. Give a good description of the problem and also include info about which browser and Operating System you use. I haven't experienced problems with Mozilla Firefox (0.9.3 and 1.0) and Internet Explorer 6.0 on both a Freebsd and a Windows 2000 machine.

By any chance using a popupblocker? Someone else also suffered from that too. Neutral

Can't you see your own uploaded thumbnail or can't you see any one?

Tweaked a bit more to the attachments:
- Maximum imagesize is 75kb before the thumbnail kicks in.
- Thumbnails are now 500 pixels wide instead of 400. Thumbnails will be slightly bigger, but should no exceed 60kb
- Attachments are now ascending, unfortunately the previously entered attachment as well, so in some postings the order might be wrong.

I'll also create a nice "how-to" either tonight or tomorrow. Smile

Hi, Wave

I've been tryng to publish my photos from the drifting event at Geldredome this weekend but my links aren't functioning properly..

I have created thumbnails that are 160x120 pixels and around 20kb in size that are linked to a larger image like this:
Code:
[url=(link to large image)][img](Link to thumbnail)[/img][/url]

But the forum automatically creates thumbnails from my thumbnails and thus overrides my links to the large pics. This happens even if I make the thumbs ridiculusly small... Am I doing something wrong or is something wrong with the forum?

Ah, if you post images with the image tag the forum will automatically display them on maximum width of your screen and make it a popup window, so if you use the url tag in combination with the image tag you get a double popup. Wink

If you use the attachment mod in the reply interface (not the quickreply underneath each topic) you can post them full size and attachmentmod will take care of the rest. Wink

Maximum imagesize is 512kb and you can post up to 100 images per post. Smile

Auch! That's huge! I can imagine why you made thumbnails. Wink

Hmmm, maybe something we should fix. Something like this:
Code:

[img tn=http://www.bla.com/thumbnail.jpg]http://www.bla.com/original.jpg[/img]

I'll look into that today. Wink

Okay guys,

Since there have been some questions about this I'll add some more information about adding attachments to your post.

Attachments allow you to upload pictures stored on your computer to our forum and show them as part of your post. This saves you the trouble of having to upload them to some website like photobucket and link them within your post.

Most people reply to a thread using the quick reply function at the bottom of a thread as I'm doing right now. You can not add attachments to a post when you use the quick reply method.
You can however edit your post later on and add attachments if you want.

If you want to add attachments right away you can either start a new thread or press the button at the bottom of the thread.

Using the button presents you with the normal post a reply screen. This screen gives you a more enhanced view for replying.

The top parts allows you to type in your reply just like with the quick reply.

The second part is the part where you can add attachments, we'll get back to that in a second.

The lower part is a brief review of the thread without attached pictures and other makeup and quotes so you can quickly review what other wrote in the thread.

The add an attachment part by default shows you two fields, a filename field with browse button (bladeren in this dutch browser), and a file comment field with an add attachment button.

You can either type in the file name of the picture you want to attach (the file as it is on your PC locally) or press the browse button to select the file on your PC. You can then optionally entere a description of the file in the file comment. You then press the "Add Attachment" button to send the file to the forum.

It can take a few seconds before this action is completed. Once the file is uploaded you'll see that the file is added to your post and that you can upload a second file. You can upload up to 10 attachments for every post you make.

Once you have typed in your post and added every attachment you want you can press the Submit button to add your reply to the forum.
