|
|
Thought I would throw this online for those people looking for an oportunity to stop posing and actually do some tracktime
Saturday the 11th of februari wil see the track of Zandvoort stage an open lapping day..prices are around the 15 or 20 Euro mark/ heat of 20 minutes. For a little bit more you can have an instructor sit in during one of the heats. A very helpfull experience that I can recommend to anyone! It doesn't get any cheaper than this lads.
I won't be able to attend the day myself (leave for Tokyo the next day) but I'm sure that some of you guys will be out there to prove that the legendary AE86 can spank not only high power cars, but can also be quicker than my (and ivans) volvo grannymatic...Last chance boys, next trackday she'll be wearing new trackshoes and pack enough ponies to start a ranch.

I dunno whether they will allow drifting, the focus is very clearly on fast lapping..might be a nice oportunity to display your skill as a fast driver...laptimes last time were...euhm.....open for improvement?
Just kidding would be nice to see a former 24h racecar drive at racespeed in stead of prancing about like a ballerina en facing the wrong way

The volvo is not participating this time, so you might actually stand a chance

Yesterday was way to busy on the track, it seems that people flocked to zandvoort at the news of being able to drive there again.
Hachis were well presented. Myself, Robokill, TE71Corolla and I'm sorry I forgot your name but the guy that now owns Rene's black 3door all did our rounds.
In the end I only ended up doing one 20 minute session, it took me 40 minutes standing in line to end up on the track surrounded by cars most of the time. Driving while having to check your mirrors 20 times per second is not yet my thing:)
Still I had loads of fun. Hopefully next time they will restrict the number of people on the track just a little so one drives with a little less nerves. I'm pretty new on this track afterall:)
Pictures were made by Stephane from www.8200rpm.com, check the site out for more pictures:)

Probably:) I talked to him and his friends for a while at the end of the day but I'm terrible in remembering names from people I just met:)
I'm sure he'll forgive me, it sure was fun meeting them.
I actually met up with a number of people who seem to know me from the forum but I have hardly got a clue who they are. I'm just terrible with names and faces:)

jup that was me... Was my first time on the track. Very nice experience... Only i wouldn't mind if it was less crowdy during the session.
But nonetheless... I had fun.

Chell, drifting was normal practice day in the morning, this was a track day with normal grip driving. Laptimes counted (well for those who cared:))
Calavera, you should come along with us next time to lelystad. Really nice environment for practicing.
