Did a trackday at donington park today... my home circuit.
Unfortunately it was very very wet all day long and not much grip driving took place. Did lots and lots of drifting though which was fun.
late afternoon I had to come off the track with some serious engine rattle - I think I killed the bottom end. I'll post more when I know whats wrong.
I am a little pissed off but not upset - my car has had a pretty hard year of driving so its to be expected really - and I've had so much fun in that year I can't complain.

don't feel harsh mate you can renew a bottom end for around 750 euro's (thats with new pistons etc) so than you have a new moter again

Or better just put a gZe in it...
With a full exhaust, a filter and a bigger pulley you ll have about 180!
And with an ITB on it, who knows

I've seen a 1.8 supercharged miata with an M62 blowing through ITB's pump out 340 or something horsepower..at the wheels. Not quite a stock system though.
The rattle is probably just one of the conrod bearings, probably no1. Shouldn't be that hard to replace, probably quite cheap even, engine can remain in the car.

I was a little scared when i saw what you wrote on MSN, thought you crashed or something. Good thing it's only the engine. Hopefully it's only a conrod bearing and you're soon at it again. You'll fix it!
