some pics could be seen at our bulgarian forum here: www.toyotabg.net
cool stuff, I think we should try and get more organised here in Europe, perhaps try and get to organise a meeting or somehting???

well, it is not my forum, it is just the Bulgarian toyota fan's forum, that's why the language... I know it's a drag, but there are some nice pics you could see there.
about my turbo mod?

well this used to be an AE86 SR model, only a year and a half ago, when I got the car, running the 4A-C motor, with 73hp, and a carb. it had some 320,000km before, I got the engine out, then completely rebuil a red hi-comp engine from AE92, put GZE pistons and rings in there, made my own turbo exhaust manifold, swaped the sides of the throttle on the intake, and put the engine in the car. put on a KKK K24 turbo compressor, installed radiator from a toyota Carina 1.6 (1995), a completeley new exhaust system, then put in the Mgasquirt stand alone ECU moded to accept the Ford EDIS4 ignition module, got rid off the distributor, and installed a magnetic sensor and a 36-1 tooth wheel to sense the engine, this gave me a complete control over fuel and spark, I use 450cc/min injectors, a bosch motorsport pump which I also instealed in the tank, nes copper fuel lines, KONI adjustable all around, where the front are for AE92, and are modified to coil over with 300lbs springs, the rear springs were cut.
the wheels are 15x7, rubber behind is 225/50 15, front 205/50 15, there are 35mm spacer-adapters behind, and 30mm infornt, they also change the PCD from 4x114,3, to 4x100mm.
there is a sparco 2spoke steering wheel, front seats are from Celica ST185 turbo all-tarck, front and rear braces, drilled and slotted brake discs, etc. and the end result is 300WHP, could go more, but with the original gearbox and diff. is rather crazy, so after I change those, will try the maximum... Drool
now I got a nice MA61 Celica Supra, so I will have to pay some attention to her as well, and then get back to the AE86...Smile.
hope this gives some idea about my mods.
cheers,
punky Cheerleader (I love this crazy emoticon... Thumbsup Thumbsup )

Great job Punkara!
Wish i 've made such a mod to mine too... Crying or Very sad
How about writing down the cost of every new-added item in your 4AGE to see the overall amount of money you spent?
I 'm jeallous man!

hehehe, how do you imagine me remembering each thing? I've been working on this project, in my mind, and collecting parts for over 4 years now. I only got the car and started it a year and a half ago, but I had most parts, then I changed some, and then again... I really have no idea! I am just a mad toyota fan, and I do notm calculate these costs, they come to me like my food costs, something I need to do....Smile.
some scares prices which come on the top of my mind are:
turbocompressor 50euros (from junk yard)
blow off, fuel regulator, and some other small things about 50 euros (from Brazil)
the KONI's all 4 came about 360euros or so, new.
200USD for the coil over kit
70euros for the steering wheel
40euros for the gear knob
12euros for the aluminium plates for the pedals
the pistons and rings, I truelly cannot remember how much they costed, I got them new from Toyota, but you can check with your local toyota dealer
lots of the things I made myself, or modified, and used lots of things from Junk yards, like the injectors were like 40euros.
the good thing about my junk yard is that they give you 3months guarantee on each part you get, so you can always return it, abnd they do check their parts before they dismantle them, so you know it was working properly before you get it, but also since I've been a long and wierd clinet..Smile, I can always change things, this reminds me of my radiator, I changed about 4 or 5 of them, until I was happy with the carina one...Smile.
one thing is for sure: do not use Hyundai Atos one, as it is too small to cool the water even without a thermostat in, and the el. fan blowing... Embarassed

the Carina one, is longer, but thin enough, so you can fit an AUDI fan, which is very powerful, you can fit in fact 2 fans, if you want to...Smile.
well, I hope this clears some of that... but my advise is: MAKE SURE 100% what you want to get from your car BEFORE getting the parts. once you know, then make a list of all the pasrts you will need, then start looking for them, and leave about 50% more cash for the things you DID NOT think of, so this way you will get where you wanted to...Smile.
another advise, do not use modified Toyota EFI system, although this works, it is far away from where you want to be... basically get a stands alone ECU, and never look back... Wink
my car as it is now, IS VERY HARD to drift!!! Sure it is possible, but your usual AE86 behaviour, is long gone, and now this is an increadibly stable "stuck to the road" car, which allows you increadible speeds on in and out of the corner! With the poer this car has, though, you can still do what you want with it, don't get me wrong here... Cool
well, good luck, and when you need help ask, would be glad to help, with whatever I can.
cheers,

Punkara,

What state is that last picture in? The white 3door used as donor? Is the shell repairable?

if you ask me, anything is repearable! But is it worth it?
I am sure, you can get a car in betyter shape with all the part needed for it to actually drive! Just look around, e-bay as well.
besides, I am not sure how things with cars work between Bulgaria and the EU, I mean you might need to wait until Jan.1, 2007 to be able to import a car, without the husstle of emissions bans, custums, etc...
I think there is a problem importing a car in the EU, which is more than 7 years old, and has not catalizor, or something like that...
each country has some of their own rules, but generally, it sucks. I have a friend here in Italy, he got him a nice AE86 over from Switzerland, the local Italian motor authorities were giving him problems for registration, because the car had no cat and was more than 7 years older, at the same time in Italy you can register trouble-free any car which is at least 25 years old or more... crazy, I know, but that's the rules
Mad
There is an AE86 for sale in Bulgaria right now, I think the price is about 430euros, and the car needs some repairs "problems in the LSD, gearbox, and steering rack. needs change of the fuel pump. needs some body work (to clean out some rusty parts), has some German made body kit on it. The car does drive, and starts up only in warmer weather"... (beacuse of the pump they say).
but then agian, how would you import it to Holland and register it there?
trhere are no pics on our forum, but I can ask if they can take some.
Confused

Welcome!

nice hatch you got there, but like mux I don't fancy the double wing setup... But it's your car.

What are those real wheel arches? Doesn't look original?

Got any more pics? Smile

Not repairable. A car came with major problems, many parts were already dismauntled and sold. Major rust problems to the rear end of the body. Problems with documents - unpaid taxes ...
Definitely not worth to restore.

where have you seen them??? as far as I know, the guy had not yet placed photos of the car!
the car in question works and goes, and it is worthed ecery euro, even as a donor car.
the thing is, I just got an MA61, so a second AE86, will be a bit too much, although it would not be a bad idea, to have one with overrevving 4ag inside.... Cool Cheerleader

I just got a reply, the ae86 for sale in Bulgaria, had been sold to someone... has not yet visited our BG forum, so don't know him, as of yet...
the silver coupe, is getting ready for a turbo upgrade, stand alone ecu, etc...Smile. it now runs KONI's, has a new head gasket, dizzy, spark cables, plugs, tie end rods, rear sport bushings, etc. etc. you would really want to have it NOW, the way it is... Drool

it's been a while since I wrote...
so I've had some mods on my ae86 since, and namely:
1.changed the rear end to the GT version with LSD and rotor breaks - a bit more rapid, but certainly lowered the maximum speed of the car! which is something I am not very happy about, so I am thinking to rebuild the thing with the pinion of the SR rear end.
2. changed the exhaust manifold, and upgrated to a GT25 Garret brand new turbo, which comes on boost at 2700rpm on (old one only started at 3600rpm)
3. with the turbo I also put a new exhast system, basically a 63mm pipe until the end, with a straight through mufller. Car is quite enough, but still has this nice deep sound to it
4. changed the headgasket as it blew: oil outside, water inside, and leks between 3rd and 4th cylinders.
5. changed the cooling system from the moded FWD set up, to the OEM ae86 set up, this improved cooling.
6. changed the radiator, with a thicker one with twin el. fans, off a honda, but still made by NipponDenso ie, Toyota... Wink

I seem to experience some cuts/skips rom the Ford EDIS 4 ignition modul whch I use together with Megasquirt. So soon will be upgrading the Megasquirt, to read OEM toyota cranck sensor, plus build in Ignitor, and only use the Forg quad coil (which puts out very nice and strong spark, and is also MSD upgradeable if desired).

Have not had much time to do more, since I also did an engine swap to my MA61 Supra, so now it has a perfectly running 2JZ-GE (36,000km motor) off a Lexus GS300 with 220hp, ie, half way gas pedal off the clutch and tires start burning, quite increadible change for the Supra, and I am very happy with it Smile
also boght me a nice little KP60 Starlet for Christmas, so as I write it is in the body shop being completely rebuild, after that it will recive a nice 4A-GE, with the old block, with moded small rods to fit the 20mm 10.3:1 C/R pistons, lightened flywheel, with a red top head, and blue top camshafts, which should basically make the 700kg midget fly around town Cheerleader
Next on the ae86 mods, is change of the head, I am preparing a blue top head with bigger exhaust valves off the 7M-GTE, and a de-TVIS-ised intake manifold. I belive the small head has hard time deling with over 1.5bar boost, unless too retarded timing, so that's why the change.
well, these are the news from me.
here
http://www.toyotabg.net/viewtopic.php?t=265&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=150
you can see some pics of the supra with the 2JZ engine already in. if you go back on the same threat you will see some pic from the swap, you will notice the car had been repainted as well, but I will have it repainted again in mettalic blak...soon... Cool
hope you guys are all doing fine! and Zagreb, I am planning to pass by again sometime in mid May, with the Supra, so will be naice to mee you over at the nice albanian kebab place, which Jura took me to last time Smile
Great meat there Drool
cheers,
Punky
