Another hole patched up
First I had to finish off last weeks work: Then tackled another spot that has been an eyesore for a while... It was just a tiny hole with a lot of surface rust, but that's usually a bad sign. It certainly proved to be: Exploratory incision in place, bathed it in acid to remove any leftover surface rust. Officially bodged: I kinda strayed from my fix it factory style approach here because the multilayer stuff was a bit complicated, and the 4cm's of overlap where probably the reason things got so ugly under there in the first place. Will need to compensate for the slight loss in rigidity with some added strengthening though. Didnt have time to tidy up the welding and think of reinforcement since I had to pick the missus up from the airport. FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC! |
