A story in pictures:
Thought I found 2 holes last week, it turned out to be one whopper: Drilled off the outrigger, the white stuff is phosphorous acid doing it's job. Now we get a clear view of the inner sill. Luckily, all was well inside on this end. Thomas (the Doctor) was kind enough to lend a hand with the cleaning process. Found another hole, and a bunch of things that were fucked up by the guy I was paying to do my welding work before...oh well. F.U. Bert. Fabbed me up a plate for the sill. Clamp weld, rinse, repeat. Then it's on to making a bit for the floor.. using a dutch seasonal favorite as template material. Bish bash bosh, & presto: Then fill in the wheelwell plating to finish things off. Zink-sprayed it in preparation for next week when the outrigger is going back on. It needed some derusting and some minor welding, but it was too late to continue working. Inside was sprayed with rust converter to keep rust away untill I'm finished with welding. There you go.. another 10 hours of hard work.. Glad I'm not in the restoration business... I cant imagine having to do this much faster. FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC! |
